Miramar North School At Miramar North, we are a smallish school with so much community spirit. We are located in Miramar, Wellington, New Zealand.

Our close neighbours are Weta Workshop and Weta Digital. We have a strong roll of 250+ students ranging from Years 1-6.

This weekend, some families will be celebrating brothers and sisters day. Room 11 and 6 read a story to learn all about it. Raksha Bandhan is a festival that celebrates the love and bond between brothers and sisters.
Pōhutukawa children had a go making a rakhi at discovery time today.
Here are some of room 11’s writing:
My brother's cute, he smiles at me when I play with him. I love him so much, he is the best. -Jayden

Kia orana! For Cook Island language week we learnt some basic commands, looked at the connection between te reo and Cook Island, watched some Cook Island dancing and learnt some arts and craft. The lovely Jane made the whole of the Kōwhai syndicate chop suey and mainese to try. Jane also taught Pūkeko class how to make ei Katu and she bought in some artifacts for us all to learn more about daily life and culture. Mica and Georgia helped the Rimu tamaiti make some beautiful tivaevae crafts. What wonderful experiences we’ve been involved in this week.

Had our first Poly Club practice this week. There was huge excitement and enthusiasm and the tamariki actually amazed us at how quickly they picked up the tricky moves of the sāsā.
