Just yesterday, our team was returning to Wellington after transporting a premature baby back home to Hawke's Bay. On the way, they learned that fog had rolled in at Wellington, and they needed to land in Kapiti instead.

They weren’t alone; two other Air Ambulances were also en route to deliver patients to urgent medical care at Wellington Hospital.

Thanks to Kāpiti Airport, all crews were able to safely complete their missions despite the weather conditions.

It's only with your support that these missions are made possible - it was your generosity that flew the premature baby home, and it's your support that ensured our other patients could get the care they needed in Wellington. We can't thank you enough ❤️

Inspired by today’s World Bee Day theme of cooperation between humans and bees, a colourful swarm of creativity will soon land in Pōneke Wellington.

🐝30+ giant bee sculptures, each transformed by Kiwi artists

🐝20+ community bees created by schools and local groups

A free, family-friendly public sculpture art trail, presented by Mills-Albert Limited, for everyone to enjoy.

Better yet, every bee will help keep Life Flight’s Westpac Chopper and Air Ambulance Planes in the air and delivering urgent, lifesaving care.

We’re excited to announce that Life Flight has been chosen as Chemist Warehouse New Zealand’s Charity of choice! This partnership will help ensure life-saving aeromedical care is there for Kiwis across Aotearoa New Zealand.

🏉 To kick things off, tune in to this weekend’s rugby with the Blues, Chiefs, Hurricanes, Crusaders and Highlanders, and their "Tries for Good"! Every try scored will raise $4,000 in vital funds for Life Flight’s Air Ambulance service.

Why is this so important? Each flight faces a $4,000 funding shortfall, and it’s only through the support of the community life-saving care is there when every second counts.

A huge thank you to Chemist Warehouse New Zealand for their incredible support! Let’s score big for a great cause!

We can't wait to join Hood Aerodrome's Open Day in Masterton! In 2025 alone, Life Flight flew over 200 patients from across the Wairarapa Region. It means so much to spend time with the community and supporters we serve every day.

This year, Life Flight proudly attended the Walsh Memorial Scout Flying School at Matamata Aerodrome.

This two week-long event provided 47 beginner students and 23 returning students the chance to dive into the world of aviation, with many aiming complete their first solo flights and earn their Scout Wings in just two weeks!

Attending the event was Life Flight Air Ambulance Pilot Andrew, who has dedicated 15 years as an instructor at this event, helping over 30 students achieve their first solo flights.

Joining Andrew was our Flight Operations Manager and Chief Pilot, Cam, who performed a spectacular fly-over, showcasing the capabilities of our Air Ambulance planes.

We were honoured to be part of this event, showcasing the incredible skills of our Air Ambulance Pilots, and inspiring the next generation.
