The embankment of the Northern motorway forms the western boundary. The park is 1.6 kms long. The Belmont Stream flows through the park and is a prominent and attractive feat

ure. It is a major tributary of the Porirua Stream that flows from Glenside through Tawa to the Porirua harbour. The Main Entrance to Seton Nossiter Park

Under Fast-track legislation, communities do not have an automatic right to submit to decision making Expert Panels, despite the potentially massive effects on them of Fast-track proposals. Today, King's Birthday, 88 people demonstrated the value they put on threatened community assets and people's homes by walking through Gilberd Bush Reserve. A great turnout at short notice, supported by people from around the district, including Porirua, Tawa, Grenada Village,
Newlands, Paparangi, and
Petone. - Peter Gilberd

Hi, everyone

Cherry tree chopping this Saturday at 1pm - please see below message from Robyn (co-coordinator):

To finish off what we started last weekend I am going to be at the Pinkerton Park Car Park this Saturday 16th at 1pm for another session on the Cherry Trees. Weather dependant of course. Please let us know if you think you can make it.

Last weekend we made a start on what I thought was just a small patch of Cherry Trees right next to the carpark. Well it is not finished. A short effort should get that patch done. If there is time we can move on to the next area in Pinkerton Park (it is a HUGE job).

Please bring your own tools if you have them, and gloves. We have the Gel.

Hi Everyone, earlier this year, during another storm, a southerly blew off the lid of our emergency water supply tank in the direction of the recreation reserve in Woodridge. It may be stuck in the dense bush but it's just possible the lid will end up in the Seton Nossiter Park stream. It's made of green, hard plastic, and about 600mm diameter. I'd be very grateful if you could keep this message in mind in case someone finds it. Regards, Richard Featherstone

Lost n Found
Kia ora koutou. Anyone happen to find a puppy chewed car key on a much loved route 66 key ring? It’s our only one and may have fallen from my pocket walking Seton Nossiter in the rain earlier🤞

It is a beautiful day for a walk in Gilberd Bush today, before the rain tomorrow. Support the tui's call and let NZTA know how much you value our reserves, lest they turn them into motorway. (Video shows one of NZQA’s counters, as they assemble evidence to attempt to justify ploughing a four-lane highway through Gilberd Bush Reserve and half of Seton Nossiter Park) - Peter Gilberd
