Kia ora folks, It's that time of year to wind back the clocks so we'd ask you to please check your smoke alarms.
Did you know you can't smell smoke when you're asleep, so smoke slams are the best way to protect you and your whanau from fire.
If you need help or advice about smoke alarms, please call Kilbirnie Fire Station on 387-3078.

Kia ora everyone,
You may have heard about the troubles with our organisation FENZ, with faulty trucks, substandard equipment, staff shortages, no cancer cover and our top heavy mismanagement.

We would ask you all to please sign and share this petition calling for an independent enquiry into FENZ's mismanagement of our organisation.
We thank you for your ongoing support.

A tough afternoon for Green Watch fighting a house fire on Onepu Road today. Crews from Newtown, City and Brooklyn as well as our Operational Support Unit joined us and worked hard to extinguish the fire quickly.

Fortunately nobody was home, but the house was badly damaged. Our thoughts are with the family.

Please ensure you have working smoke alarms. If you need help or advice about smoke alarms, call us at the station (04) 387-3078.

If you see a fire or emergency, call 111 and ask for Fire.

Brown Watch had a busy end to their shift with a scrub fire behind the new sludge minimisation plant at Moa Point. With help from our mates at Newtown & City Stations, Airport Fire and the Wainui Bushforce & Wellington North Rural fire who were also deployed, the blaze was quickly brought under control and extinguished. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
If you see smoke or a fire like this, please call 111 to report it.

Kia ora everyone. Our Union has put together some informative graphics to give you some idea of what we're up against with our employer FENZ and why we're striking.
We will be at the corner of John Street and Adelaide Road in Newtown tomorrow from 12pm-1pm.
We absolutely hate that it has come to this, but FENZ is not listening to us and spinning the truth about the state of our fire service.
Please support us to protect you. Thank you.
