On Wednesday and Thursday we hosted the Embassy of Ireland Kōrero | Comhrá - formerly Summer School - exploring the theme "Sovereignty Beyond Territory: Culture, Identity and Language in an Uncertain Digital World."

The programme brought together a stellar lineup of practitioners, academics and business leaders for a series of discussions on safeguarding language and culture in an increasingly uncertain digital age. The three panels considered the following:

- how do we define data sovereignty in a world of great powers?

- how we embed Indigenous identity in digital systems?

- how do we govern Indigenous data?

GRMA | Ngā mihi nui to all who shared their expertise - Kirikowhai Mikaere, Amy Dove, Kevin Shedlock, Vailahi Vailahi; Chris Cormack, Michael Puhara, Amber Taylor, Colin Kennedy; Te Taka Keegan, Aleisha Amohia, Xaviere Murray-Puhara and Lynell Tuffery Huria, all guided by the amazing Elle Archer as MC.

Not least because Matariki is upon us, it was also a time to remember our dear colleague Treena Daly, who passed away last year. Treena did so much to make Summer School a central part of our work. With this year's event we wanted to honour the immense work she did to strengthen the bonds between Ireland and New Zealand.

Thank you to everyone who joined us 🧡
