UPDATE, 0900 Saturday 29/8

WEATHER DELAYS KAWATIRI FAREWELL, FINAL DREDGE TODAY

Kawatiri will complete a final dredge this morning to ensure the vessel is at the correct weight for its transโ€‘Tasman crossing.

This week's weather means the earlier planned departure time has now changed.

Harbour staff will reassess conditions at the next suitable high tide, and this may allow the vessel to depart later this evening, if conditions align.

A further update will be issued once the harbourmaster confirms the departure window.
