📢 Westport and Reefton offices closure: Thursday 29 October

Buller District Council’s Westport and Reefton offices and associated facilities will be closed temporarily for a staff meeting on Thursday 29 October.

The facilities affected include:

🤝 Customer Services - Brougham House CLOSED from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

📚 Sue Thomson Casey Library, Westport OPEN from 1:30 pm

📽 NBS Theatre, Westport
OPEN from 1:30 pm for movie screenings.

⚓ Westport Harbour Office & phone lines
CLOSED from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

🕰 All other departments CLOSED from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm.

ℹ Reefton Visitor and Service Centre
CLOSED all day for staff meeting/training, reopening 9:00 am Friday 30 October.
*NZ Post private mailboxes and the public post box will be serviced as usual.

🍿 Reefton Cinema CLOSED

During this time residents can use the Council or library websites to access information or pay for a range of services including rates, building consent fees, resource consent fees, dog registration, and LIMs.

Council apologises for any inconvenience the closure of these facilities may cause.

Before the great many Antarctic expeditions from the Heroic Age, a pioneering Swedish expedition ventured into the largely unknown Antarctic Peninsula, and found themselves facing an ordeal every bit as remarkable as the famous Antarctic survival stories we know so well.

Avi returns to the Sue Thomson Casey Memorial Library to tell the story of Otto Nordenskjöld and his team on Tuesday 20 October at 6.30 pm. Learn of the extraordinary events that unfolded and the influence their experience would later have on people like Shackleton.
