Massive shout out to Dylan from All Upholstery Limited Whakatāne!
A huge thank you for stitching up the new webbing for the Whakatāne Volunteer Fire Brigade crews. The team put it to use last night during patient rescue training, and the feedback has been awesome. The new and improved webbing especially with the custom sewn handles performed exceptionally well.
We really appreciate the quality workmanship and the support you’ve shown to our brigade.
This is a great reminder to support local businesses they’re the ones who give back to our community when it matters most.
Thanks again, Dylan, for backing your local volunteer fire brigade! 🚒🔥

🔥Attention: SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITY🔥
Our volunteer firefighters put their lives on the line for our community every single day… and they do it for free! But right now many of them are quietly digging into their own pockets to pay for gym memberships just to stay strong and fit to answer the next call.
That’s why we’re building a dedicated gym at our fire station. It will give our crew a proper space to train together, so they can keep getting fitter without the personal cost. Planning for the building is well underway, now we need your help to fit it out with the equipment.
We’re offering two simple ways for you and local businesses to get behind them:
1. Make a donation: every dollar goes straight into buying gear.
2. Sponsor a specific piece of equipment: we’ll put a permanent sticker or plaque on it with your name or business name so everyone who trains here knows exactly who made it possible.
Whether it’s a treadmill, weights, a rowing machine, or a full set of dumbbells, your sponsorship will be proudly displayed and shared on our social pages and at our open days. It’s a visible, lasting thank-you that shows the whole town who stepped up.
Firefighters work to protect every home, every family, and every business in our patch. This gym is a chance for the community to help us keep you safe.
If you’d like to donate or sponsor, message us here on Facebook or email us at [email protected] . We can send you a full list of equipment and discuss sponsorship/donation options.
Together we can make sure our brigade stays fit, ready, and proud to serve this community for years to come.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the mums out there.
Especially the ones of the brigade whether it’s serving the brigade or holding down the fort at home, we appreciate you all ❤️

Today we pause to remember the courage, sacrifice, and service of all who have served. Lest we forget.

*Update* - The portable pumps have magically reappeared over the fence.
Thank to whoever’s running the after‑hours return service. 😉
Appreciate the communities support.

We’re all for a bit of DIY… but whoever decided to give our training vehicles a “free tyre rotation” has taken the wheels with them, which is an interesting new element to the service.
As if that wasn’t enough, our training trailer’s canvas has been cut open and three portable pumps have gone off on their own little adventure.

If anyone has seen anything suspicious around the station, please let us or Police know.
And if three portable pumps suddenly turn up with absolutely no use to you… we’ve got plenty of use for that sort of thing.
🤦‍♀️

Hopefully you have all taken heed of the emergency advice being circulated today and are prepared for tomorrow with your emergency grab bag, and have secured your properties. Rest assured your local volunteer firefighters have been preparing today - not only our own homes and whanau - but for our anticipated emergency response tomorrow. If you need emergency assistance, call 111 and we will respond as best we can at the time - please be aware that there maybe response delays for some calls if we are involved with risk-to-life events. Please also note that our firefighters will not place themselves in peril if the threat is too high. Stay safe whanau!
