Whananaki Community Library

Directions

Whananaki Community Library The Whananaki Library is run entirely by volunteers.

We have a committee who look after the operation of the library – organisation, buying books and supplies, fundraising and so on – and a roster of people who do library duty on the days it’s open. Committee:
Chair: Rosalie Welch
Secretary: Helen Barron
Treasurer: Glenn Waddell
Committee: Raewyn Douglas, Jude Coldicutt, Jackie Cooper. Membership for local residents and ratepayers is free and for visitors the fee is $10 per family for your lifetime. The library is financed by our annual book and baking sale on the 2nd January, along with our camper hamper raffle. We are also supported by the Whangarei District Council grants to community libraries, which is based on the number of books borrowed.

📚 Letters, lies, politics, parenthood and a little calamity ~ meet our Top 5 Spring Reads!
Swing by tomorrow morning, borrow something good and score a voucher for a half-price coffee, thanks to the good folk at Whananaki General Store. The offer runs right through until Labour Weekend. ☕️
And don’t forget ~ next Saturday, 10 October, this little corner of Whananaki comes alive for the Whananaki Spring Clean-Out. Market stalls, live music, books, coffee, clay, chair painting and plenty of local flavour. 🌿

MAKE A MORNING OF IT. 📚☕🎶
There’s plenty happening around our little library on Saturday 10 October.

The Whananaki Spring Clean-Out is taking over the Hall and surrounds from 10am–2pm, with market stalls, live music, Clay Station, Chair Painting and plenty of treasures to fossick through.

The library will be open 9:30am–12:30pm, with lots of new books waiting on the shelves. And thanks to our lovely neighbours at Whananaki General Store, borrow a book and you’ll receive a voucher for a half-price coffee at the Store. ☕📚

The coffee offer runs until Labour Weekend ~ a lovely way for the Store to support the library and the volunteers who keep our shelves stocked.

And those new books? 👀
Keep an eye on the page over the next day or so as we reveal some of our latest arrivals.
Books. Coffee. Market stalls. Live music. A little creativity.
Not a bad way to spend a Saturday morning in Whananaki. 🌼
