Imagine if the tooth fairy had to do bank transfers. Or you couldn’t buy an ice cream without a phone, a plan, an app and an internet connection. What if you never again heard those lovely words “just keep the change.” A cashless society is where we’re heading but, you’re in luck because, here at the Sunday Market, we’re keeping cash alive! So, gather up your coins and come down this Sunday to see what you can find. Do a little bartering, get your knives sharpened, play the piano, replenish your supply of honey, chilli sauce, produce, jams and pickles and peruse the lovely crafts, books, plants and 2nd hand treasures. Of course, if it rains, we may not all make it, but we’ll give it a go! And remember, keep the e-waste donations to the small stuff this week until Helen is back. See you there!
p.s. a few of us do have eftpos machines.......

Just a reminder that we're on "Winter hours" so markets on 1st and 3rd Sundays plus school holiday and long weekends. That means no market this weekend (24th) and no e-waste collection either. So see you on King's Birthday Weekend with your big smiley faces and big fat wallets!

We’re all set up and ready to go! Are you? Here till 1pm. Come and have a game of co****le or sample some chilli sauce to really warm you up!

Our lovely Helen, who so cheerfully collects all the detritus of our digital age for recycling, will be away for a few weeks but you can still bring your small e-waste to the market and give to Suzanne at her book stall near the front. Please leave TVs, microwaves, printers and the like at home however, until Helen returns. Beautiful weather awaits us on Sunday so come down and replenish your supplies of local honey, fruit and veg, plants, 2nd-hand and vintage treasures, crafts and lots more. Leave your knives and garden tools till the long weekend though, when Kevin, our knife sharpener, is back. And remember, Paul will be there with his piano if you want to have a go – don’t be shy, there’s never much of an audience this time of year and, if you’re really terrible, someone might pay you to stop!

It's the start of our Winter "hours" so NO market this Sunday (10th). You'll survive, don't panic Mr Mainwaring! Helen will still be there, however, outside the Council building from 10 - 11 to collect your small e-waste, tetrapaks, polystyrene and egg trays/cartons so pay her a visit - she'll be lonely without us! See you on the 17th.

This week we are donating $1000 to our local Land Search & Rescue group. These volunteers will drop everything to search for you whether you’re lost/injured in the bush or in an urban environment. It takes a bit to prepare for this, including courses on first aid, rope/stretcher work, helicopters and communications so we hope that our donation will help. Remember, all our donations come from stall holder fees so the more stalls, the more we can donate! This Sunday we have Ron back with his co****le games, Kevin the knife-sharpener, Ray with native trees and kawakawa balm plus a range of 2nd hand treasures, crafts, books, fruit/veg and local honey. And don’t forget your e-waste from 10 till 11, your nimble fingers to play the piano and, last but not least, there’s a chance you’ll meet a large furry penguin! See you there!

Next month we start our “Winter Hours”, with markets on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month, plus school holiday and long weekends. And, because that is far too hard to remember, I’ll attach a list of dates in the comments so that you can print it out and put it on the fridge, just like the old days! This week we are back on board with knife sharpening, corn hole games, crafts, honey, hot chilli sauces, loads of books, plants, fruit and veg, crafts, 2nd hand treasures, recycled/upcycled/revived bits & pieces and hand knitted jumpers for the little kids. E-waste collection from 10 till 11 and piano man at random times – come and play!
