The Library offers a free Home Service for customers who are housebound for medical reasons such as a recent operation, or mobility problems mean that you are unable to get to the library or access the Mobile Library service. We bring the library to you, whatever you want to read or listen to, and collect the items again when you have finished enjoying them.

The Home Service was started with a generous donation from the Josephine Duncan Bequest in 2010 and has helped hundreds of people continue to enjoy their literature as their circumstances have changed.

If you believe this service might be of value to you or someone in your family or close network, you can reach out to the Home Service Librarian Candy Stevens on 349 3203.

There is still time to register for our Smarten Up smartphone skills classes, but get in quick as places are filling fast. Classes start in the first week of June.

Want to feel more confident about using your smartphone or tablet? Register now for our FREE Smarten Up smartphone skills classes at the Alexander Library - Te Rerenga Mai o Te Kฤuru and Gonville Library.

Small classes. Weekly 90-minute sessions. A choice of timeslots on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Classes start in June, but get in quick as there are limited places.

Learn about using apps, managing files and photos, staying safe online, managing passwords, doing online banking and shopping, managing your digital photos, and more.
