Northland Regional Council Northland Regional Council is based in Northland, New Zealand. We manage the air, land and water.

What’s the purpose of our page?

• To keep you up to date with the latest news, events and meetings
• To share information and resources
• To provide opportunities for you to have your say on council activities

We will update and monitor our page during office hours, Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 5.00pm. If you have a query, we will pass your query onto the relevant people in the

🏉 Tuesday update from the 'Wha' North.

NRC Chair Pita Tipene checks in from Kaikohe, where councillors met today before heading out to visit the Ngāwhā geothermal plant and Lake Ōmāpere.

With the Ranfurly Shield also stopping in town this afternoon as part of its tour around Northland, there was a real buzz around Kaikohe and across the Mid North, and plenty to be proud of in Taitokerau 🌳

Te Ruarangi co-chairs, Nyze Manuel and Cr Arama Morunga, share their whakaaro on the values and aspirations that underpin the work of Tāiki ē in caring for our taiao.

Te Ruarangi is the council working party that breathes mauri into the partnership – in essence, it is the relationship in action. Made up of iwi and hapū representatives and councillors from across the rohe, Te Ruarangi provides a space for Kāwanatanga and Rangatiratanga to come together. It is guided by shared values and a collective responsibility to protect and care for te taiao.
