NEW AED for Parua Bay!
We're happy to announce that the Parua Bay Residents and Ratepayers Association (PBRRA) has purchased a new Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and a bright yellow box to house it. This new unit replaces the old one, which had reached the end of its service life.

The previous AED was a vital resource for our community over the last 10 years and was successfully used on many occasions. The new AED has been placed in an easily accessible location at the GAS station.

We want to extend a huge thank you to the Oxford Funding Grant for their generous contribution, as well as a number of the PBRRA members who kindly donated to this worthy cause. Your support made this important purchase possible.

Thanks also to Lynne and Ross Brown at GAS Parua Bay for housing the unit and Mike Smith for installing it.

Nga mihi,

The PBRRA Committee
James Griffin, Hazel Smith, Terry Shepperd, Dave and Barb Green, Richard Eiger, Anne Cooper and Gavin Boland

Connectivity maps.

These maps reflect the interest expressed by the Parua Bay community in increasing awareness of existing walking and cycling routes and improving connectivity, both within Parua Bay and the wider Whangarei Heads area.

The maps should also help identify where there is most interest in improvements and therefore where we can focus future efforts.

For existing routes that rely on shared road space, improvements could potential include road safety measures and separate paths.

'Potential routes' show future possible connections by highlighting public land and what we understand to be unformed legal roads (paper roads). The legal status of the paper roads, practicality of topography and any environmental or cultural constraints have not yet been investigated.
