Kia ora Community
Every time our crew is dispatched to a preventable incident, it takes us away from those who may be facing a genuine emergency and urgently need our help. Your choices make a real difference to how available we are for our community.
• Take a moment to think before heading into risky areas
• Stay put if conditions are unsafe
• Look after yourselves and those around you
Your support helps keep our team ready for the people who truly need us.
Ngā mihi for your understanding and for helping us keep our community safe.

🚒 Kamo Fire Brigade has officially hit 300 callouts for the year!
…But maybe not the kind of milestone we were hoping for.

Calls 298, 299, and 300 this weekend?

🔥 …and yep, person burning rubbish in their backyards.

Please help keep our volunteers free for real emergencies… and help us keep that 300 number from climbing any faster! 🔥🙈

Before you light anything, please check it’s allowed in your area:

A huge thank you to Golden Bay Cement for coming on board as a main sponsor of the 2026 Kamo Touch-a-Truck event! 🚜💛

As New Zealand’s only fully NZ-owned and operated cement manufacturer, Golden Bay Cement plays a big part in building strong foundations, not just across the country, but right here in our community too.

Your support helps make this awesome family day possible, bringing together locals, kids, and some seriously cool machines for a fun day out in Kamo.

We’re proud to have Golden Bay Cement backing local events that bring Whangārei together! 🙌

Emergency Services Day was an absolute blast. Thank you to the community for coming out and getting amongst it all. The Kids Combat Challenge, seemed to be a fan favourite. Without support from Volunteer brigades like, Hikurangi, Onerahi, Portland, Maungakaramea, Tinopai and our Kamo Brigade we wouldn’t be able to do what we do.
