Look at this!

Some pupils from Whatawhata school joined some kids from St Colobus school and formed Waikato Taniwha's.
They played one or two games on Sundays throughout term one and on Sunday the 29th they managed to get into the finals.
They won the game 6-5 placing them 1st place in Senior - Division 2.

Super proud of them for giving it a go.

Kia Ora,

We have a little update from our Year 5/6 campers!

They are having an absolute blast, diving into team-building challenges and some very fun activities. It’s been awesome to see them stepping outside their comfort zones, supporting one another, and making the most of every moment.

We’re looking forward to sharing some more highlights soon ⛺🔦🏃

Kia ora whānau!

Our students recently had their first art session with Kim from Kreative Art Academy, and it was an awesome start! 🎨

During the session, the juniors explored the theme “Small but Mighty”, creating artwork inspired by tiny bugs and nature. With Kim guiding them, students learnt how to paint, shade, and use colour to bring their creations to life.

From busy bees and bright beetles to tiny flowers, it was amazing to see the care and creativity our young artists put into their work.

We’re excited to have another session with Kim coming up this week, and we can’t wait to see what our artists do next!

Kia Ora Community!

Sport is an awesome way for our tamariki to stay active, build confidence, and learn the value of teamwork and perseverance. Being part of a team helps students develop new skills, make friendships, and represent our kura with pride.

We’re currently looking for students who are interested in playing netball and basketball this season! If your child is keen to be involved, please make sure you register your interest using the links in the HERO Weekly Update. This helps us gauge numbers and organise teams.

If you haven’t done so already, jump onto HERO and fill out the form — we’d love to see as many students involved as possible!

Thanks a bunch!

Kia ora Community! 💚

It was so lovely to have Harold the Giraffe back at Whatawhata School last week! Our tamariki thoroughly enjoyed their time in the Life Education classroom, engaging in meaningful learning and open discussions.

Harold has a special way of connecting with our students, empowering them to make positive, healthy lifestyle choices. From understanding how to look after their bodies and brains to building resilience and making safe decisions, the learning was practical, relevant, and age-appropriate!

A big thank you to Nicky Wise from Life Education for supporting our learners to grow in confidence and knowledge. We love seeing our young people equipped with the tools they need to make great choices now and into the future.

Until next time! 🦒
