If this information hold water, we appreciate the indication of our performance score card. This gives us an opportunity to identify our strengths and weaknesses and continue to improve on to do better as a Province.

As Province, I mean, us as poltical leaders, administrative leaders, puplic servants, key development partners and the civil society as a whole.

I'd like to thank all our poltical leaders, public servants, development partners and the civil society for all your tireless behind the scene efforts. This scored card shows how far we have come together as a Province and the need for us to do more to improve our standing.

Lets continue to work together especially to improve our Human Development Index as a Province. Improvement in the HDI will give us the true measure of our collect efforts.

We still have a long, long way to go as Province. Lets continue to work together doing what we can do in our various capacities/space of engagement in the Province

The Fly River Warriors are proud to announce the selection of several young and promising players from the recently concluded Train and Trial Match in Port Moresby. These athletes have been identified as part of a development pathway to Tier 3 Rugby League Competitions in Queensland, Australia, providing them with direct exposure to Queensland Cup Rugby League clubs.

Selection was conducted by the Tier 3 clubs in consultation with the Fly River Warriors Management Team, based on roster needs, skill sets, physical attributes, game intelligence, and age eligibility. The program targeted talented players aged 18โ€“23, allowing clubs to further develop them for future professional opportunities in Australia.

In addition to rugby league opportunities, the selected players will also have access to employment and work experience, supporting their personal and professional growth.

All players underwent interviews by Fly River Warriors coaches, trainers, and management to assess availability and commitment, taking into account education, employment, family, and personal responsibilities.

The Rugby Development Pathway Team will now begin processing passports and Australian visas. While awaiting departure, the players will continue training with the Vipers Development Squad to maintain fitness and conditioning.

As part of its broader development strategy, the Pathway Development Team has successfully registered Port Moresby Waliya Rugby League into the Port Moresby Rugby League (PRL) Competition. The Fly River Warriors extend sincere appreciation to the PRL Board for accepting the bid. Eligible players based in Port Moresby will receive high-level training and will compete for Port Moresby Waliya as part of preparations for the Fly River Warriors Franchise Bid next year.

Special thanks are extended to Oceania Sports Management Limited (Australia) for their support in liaising with five Tier 3 clubs, and to former Kumul Mr. Ricky Sibia for facilitating initial connections and ongoing support.

The Fly River Warriors also acknowledge the invaluable support of sponsors and partners, including FRPG, OTML, SDP, Dokona Papua, Millennium Construction Limited, and LBL, as well as local rugby leagues and associations across Western Province. Appreciation is also extended to PNGRL, with special mention of Mr. Tony Waliya and team.

Finally, heartfelt thanks go to the Kiunga Rugby League Team, particularly Mr. Chris Mel, for strong leadership and prudent financial management.

โ€œDreams are free. We hope to see one of these young menโ€”or future recruitsโ€”represent the PNG Chiefs or become the next Kumul from our Province.โ€

This marks the first milestone in the Fly River Warriorsโ€™ pathway programโ€”but it will certainly not be the last.

PNG DataCo engineers have arrived in Daru, in the push to connect the districtโ€™s remote communities. The visit is the direct result of a Memorandum of Understanding signed last year between the South Fly District and PNG DataCo and follows a leadup meeting in Port Moresby involving DataCo and Kacific Telecommunication in January this year.

The engineers are on the ground to conduct site surveys for the installation of five new telecommunications towers targeting identified dark spots along the border and at Oriomu Landing Port. The initiative directly aligns with the Western Province Integrated Development Plan 2023โ€“2027, which under DIP 2.4 โ€“ Connect Western: Telecommunication & ICT Connectivity, prioritises the construction of new towers, upgrading of existing infrastructure to 4G and 5G, and expanding internet access across all districts.

Improved connectivity will enable stronger border security and economic opportunity. This is one of the tangible outcomes delivered under the leadership of South Fly Open MP and Minister for Livestock, Hon. Sekie Agisa.

A strategic partnership in service delivery.

In a history making event regarding Rugby League Development and Youth empowerment,, Western Province Rugby Showcased its Fly River Warriors in Port Moresby for the first time in exhibition games against Port Moresby based Rugby League franchises namely The Port Moresby Vipers and the Central Dabaris.

Although the wins didn't come to both the Western Reds and Yellows (Fly River Warriors Team 1 and 2), there was no denying the passion and raw talent on display.

The two Western Teams are made up of the selections concluding from the Fly River Rugby Tournament held in Daru in January 2026.
