Today marks a significant event for Catholic faithfuls at Buvussi community who witnessed the presentation of K100,000 to Buvussi Sub- Parish by Governor Muthuvel to improve its church building. Mr Muthuvel upon making the presentation urged all Catholic faithfuls of Buvussi to work closely with their church leaders to erect a new church building to change the current one build by missionaries some fifty years ago.
Mr Muthuvel also presented K100,000 to Buvussi primary school and another K100,000 to Buvussi Junior High school.
The commitment was made earlier to the schools because of overcrowding in classrooms, with the funds now available, both schools can build new classrooms to cater for more spacing for students.
Meanwhile,funds disbursed today came from the Provincial Services Improvement Program(PSIP) .
Chairman of Buvussi Sub- Parish, Caspar Tautik acknowledged Mr Muthuvel for the funds, and further urged the Catholic faithfuls to work together to deliver the new church building.
The presentation today coincided with the Pentecost Sunday celebration and the reception for the First Communion for more than 100 young recipients.
Bishop John Bosco Auram from Kimbe Catholic Diocese was the main celebrant, Governor Muthuvel was given the honors to unveil and cut the ribbon to the new Cathecist house by Bishop Auram.
