Papua New Guinea, Australia, Japan, New Zealand and the United States are working together through the PNG Electrification Partnership to help bring electricity to the people of PNG. Through the Partnership, Papua New Guinea, Australia, Japan, New Zealand and the United States are working together to help PNG meet its goal of connecting 70% of the country to electricity by 2030. So far, the PEP ha

s committed more than PGK1.2 billion in grants and loans to support electrification and drive economic growth. Work is underway on projects that aim to:
­- Extend, expand and improve the electricity grid
­- Build institutional capacity, strengthen policy and regulatory settings, and mobilise private investments
­- Provide clean energy to rural and remote communities
­- Catalyse private sector engagement in electrification. These projects will deliver sustainable and transformative change to people and communities across Papua New Guinea. TERMS OF USE
