📢 PUBLIC NOTICE: SATURDAY NID & BIRTH REGISTRATION SERVICES

Beginning Saturday, 22 August 2026, CIR will provide Saturday services for working-class citizens and students who are unable to visit during normal weekday hours.

Services available:

✅ Assistance with expired NID cards — renewal is free
✅ Urgent Birth and NID registrations only — a K40 service fee applies

🗓 Every Saturday
⏰ 8:00 AM–12:00 PM
📍 CIR Office, Moale Haus, Waigani

Clients seeking NID renewal must bring their expired NID card.

⚠️ PUBLIC NOTICE: NATIONWIDE SYSTEM OUTAGE

Power outages in Port Moresby have affected CIR’s systems, resulting in disruptions to fixed registration and enquiry services nationwide.

Mobile registrations and document issuance will continue as usual. Normal issuance services at Moale Haus and other designated centres will also proceed as scheduled.

That smile says it all.

Clinton, 6, proudly holds his birth certificate at the Mount Hagen Birth Registration Desk.

His birth certificate is more than a document. It gives him a legal identity and helps him access education, health care, protection and other essential services.

Since the desk was established in November 2025, 464 births have been registered and 228 children have received their birth certificates.

The service is led by the Papua New Guinea Civil and Identity Registry and the Western Highlands Provincial Health Authority, with support from the Australian Government and UNICEF. By bringing birth registration into the hospital, families can register their children more easily and closer to where they live.

The Birth Registration Desk is located at the Dental Clinic in Mount Hagen Provincial Hospital and is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Every child deserves a name, a legal identity and the opportunity to thrive. 💙

🌺 Remembrance Day Notice

Today, we join the nation in observing Remembrance Day, honouring those who sacrificed their lives in service to Papua New Guinea.

All CIR offices nationwide are closed today and will resume normal operations tomorrow.

NCD Clients scheduled under the Alphabetical Queue System for Issuance and Enquiry today are advised to visit our office this Saturday between 8:00 am – 12:00 pm.
