Screening for Male Seasonal Workers!
Following hosting a successful employers expo in Wewak from the 26th-28th of May 2026, we would like to announce the screening of Male Candidates for short term seasonal work. (6 to 9month contracts).
Screening location: Office of the Governor, Provincial Assembly Building, Wharf Road, Wewak
Screening Dates: 8th to the 11th of June
Screening time: 9am to 3pm
The candidates are required to be well dressed, have a neat haircut, be clean shaven and not chew betelnut or smoke and be of sober habits.
Requirements to be screened:
1. Gender – Only Males
2. Age – from 21 to 30
3. Height - 175cm minimum (1.75metres)
4. NID Birth Certificate (note a birth certificate from the NID office is required, not an NID card)
5. Education - Grade 10 Certificate (Minimum)
Following Screening:
After screening those who are suitable will be required to acquire all required documents including
1. Passport
2. Driver’s license
3. Visa Police Clearance
4. 2 x References
5. CV
6. Cover letter
7. Medical Certificate

Preference from employers will be given to males from rural communities who are engaged in farming daily as they have better success with workers from rural communities.
It is important to note that the selection of workers for employment is based on what a specific employer requires so applying for the program is not a guarantee you will get selected. Applications from East Sepik Province will compete with applications from the rest of the country and the Pacific so if we don’t have the types of workers employers are looking for, they will look elsewhere for workers. We will, therefore, only allow the types of candidates being requested for to apply to avoid disappointment and having many applicants waiting for years and not getting selected.
For females interested in seasonal work there has been very little to no demand or requests for females so we will not allow new applicants but the priority is to focus on getting those who already applied in 2023 and 2024 recruited.
For aged care we will not accept any new applicants as only 7 out of 23 who applied in 2023 and passed the literacy tests have been selected so we have 16 who are still waiting and there has been very limited request for aged care applicants. We will only accept new applicants if there is an increase in demand.
For those with trade skills, the announcement for applications will be advertised next week and apart from all other requirements you will be required to have a certificate for the trade, a minimum of 2 years work experience in that trade and a driver’s license (compulsory).
