In observance of the Philippine National Heroes Day, all library services will be temporarily unavailable on August 31, 2026.
Regular library operations will resume on Tuesday (Sept. 01, 2026).

NATIONAL HEROES DAY
An Act Rationalizing the Celebration of National Holidays, Amending for the Purpose Section 26, Chapter 7, Book I of Executive Order No. 292, as Amended, Otherwise Known as the Administrative Code of 1987

Under this law, National Heroes Day is observed every last Monday of August as a regular holiday in the Philippines.

It was approved by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo on July 24, 2007.

Faculty-Authored Learning Modules Now Available at the BPSU Abucay Campus Library

Abucay, Bataan – August 25, 2026 β€” Students and faculty members of Bataan Peninsula State University (BPSU) Abucay Campus now have access to two additional locally authored instructional materials by Ms. Noemi B. Terso.

The newly cataloged titles are Principles of Soil Science (Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering) and Principles of Soil Science (Agriculture), both published by Bataan Peninsula State University in 2026. These instructional materials are now available through the Circulation Section for borrowing by members of the BPSU academic community.
The Library and Information Services extends its sincere appreciation to Ms. Terso for sharing her instructional materials with the Campus Library. Faculty-authored resources will help enrich the collection with relevant materials that support the University's curriculum and respond to the learning needs of its students.

Students, faculty members, researchers, and other library users are warmly invited to visit the Circulation Section, inquire with the library staff, and explore these newly added learning modules.

In view of the anticipated rainfall associated with the enhanced Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) and the prevailing weather conditions in various parts of Bataan, all Midterm Examinations scheduled from 5:00 PM onwards today, August 25, 2026, are suspended.

Faculty members and students are advised to coordinate with their respective College Deans regarding the rescheduling of the affected Midterm Examinations.

Please note that this suspension applies only to examinations scheduled from 5:00 PM onwards today. Other academic activities and schedules remain in effect unless otherwise announced.

The University continues to closely monitor the weather situation and will issue further announcements as necessary.

In view of the Orange Rainfall Warning and the continuous flooding being experienced in several areas of Bataan, BPSU announces the following adjustments to its academic and office operations:

β€’ All scheduled Midterm Examinations shall be moved to August 24–29, 2026 (Monday to Saturday).
β€’ All classes shall shift to synchronous online learning from August 18- 22, 2026 to allow the completion of remaining course topics.
β€’ Graduate School Onsite Midterm Examination shall proceed on August 22, 2026.
β€’ The deadline for Dropping of Courses is extended until Monday, August 24, 2026.
β€’ All University offices shall conduct online transactions from August 18-20, 2026. A skeletal workforce shall be maintained for the Finance, Human Resource, and Cashier offices to ensure the continuity of essential onsite services.

Students and faculty members are advised to coordinate with their respective colleges regarding specific class and examination schedules.

The University continues to closely monitor the prevailing weather conditions and the situation in affected communities.
Any subsequent suspension or directive issued by the National Government shall supersede the arrangements stated in this advisory.

Further announcements shall be issued through official BPSU communication channels as necessary.

In view of the Red Rainfall Warning still raised over parts of Bataan and the prevailing weather conditions affecting the province, BPSU shall implement the following arrangements on August 10-11:

-Classes shall shift to asynchronous online (modular) mode of instruction. Faculty members are reminded to provide students with ample time to accomplish academic requirements and refrain from imposing immediate deadlines, taking into consideration possible power interruptions, unstable internet connectivity, and other weather-related difficulties.

-Hospital duties, community duties, and On-the-Job Training (OJT) will shift to asynchronous online mode of instruction.

-The School of Nursing Capping and Pinning Ceremony is cancelled as scheduled and rescheduled to August 13, 2026.

-University offices shall shift to online transactions, except for personnel required to participate in the scheduled online PBB validation.

-The Health Services Unit (HSU) shall accommodate teleconsultations, while Guidance and Counseling Services shall remain available for students requiring online counseling.

The University continues to closely monitor official weather bulletins and directives from concerned government agencies.

Any subsequent suspension or directive issued by the National Government shall supersede this University advisory.

Further details shall be provided through the corresponding University Memorandum.

Everyone is encouraged to remain vigilant, monitor official announcements, and prioritize safety.

In view of the Orange Rainfall Warning now raised over the entire Province of Bataan and the continuous inclement weather brought about by the Tropical Storm Luis, and in consideration of the safety and well-being of the BPSU community, all classes across all BPSU campuses, including On-the-Job Training (OJT), internships, and hospital duties, are hereby suspended today, August 3, 2026.

University offices shall remain open and continue to deliver services.

For those who may become stranded due to the prevailing weather conditions, the BPSU Main Campus shall remain open as a temporary shelter, and University vehicles shall be on standby to assist in transporting stranded students to safe locations, whenever feasible.

The University will continue to closely monitor the weather situation and issue further advisories as necessary.

NEW LEARNING RESOURCES NOW AVAILABLE!

The BPSU Abucay Campus Library is pleased to announce the addition of two faculty-authored course modules by Ms. Camille Felipe Manlapig-Pimpinio to our library collection.

Newly Added Modules:
πŸ”Ή Course Module: Basic Farm Machinery, Mechanization and Water Management
πŸ”Ή Course Module: ABE and Related Laws, Specifications, Contracts, and Professional Ethics

Published by Bataan Peninsula State University in 2025, these modules provide relevant and course-based learning resources for students in Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering. They are designed to complement classroom instruction and support students' learning, research, and academic development. The learning module is now available through the Circulation Section for borrowing.

Our sincere appreciation to Ms. Manlapig-Pimpinio for sharing her valuable instructional materials with the Campus Library. Faculty-authored resources like these help us build a stronger collection that is responsive to the curriculum and the learning needs of our students.
