𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐭 𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫

Isang mahalagang hakbang tungo sa mas mabilis at direktang serbisyo publiko ang kasalukuyang naisasakatuparan sa Bayan ng Abulug.

Sa inisyatibo ni Congresswoman Baby Aline Vargas-Alfonso, itinatayo ngayon ang District Government Center, isang flagship project na naglalayong baguhin at paginhawahin ang pakikipagtransaksyon ng mamamayan sa pamahalaan sa bayan ng Abulug sa pamamahala ni Mayor Marie Angelie A. Vargas.

Sa loob ng mahabang panahon, isa sa mga pangunahing suliranin ng mga residente sa Abulug at mga karatig-bayan sa Ikalawang Distrito ng Cagayan ang malaking distansya papunta sa mga pangunahing tanggapan ng pambansang pamahalaan upang makakuha lamang ng mga batayang dokumento gaya ng mga lisensya, clearances, at iba pang kailangang papeles.

Kaya naman, sa inisyatibo ni Congw. Baby Aline Vargas-Alfonso magkakaroon na ng mabilis at accessible na serbisyo: Mas madali nang makakakuha ng mga kinakailangang pampamahalaang dokumento ang mga mamamayan sa isang lugar lamang (one-stop shop).

Ang pagpapatayo ng District Government Center sa Abulug ay hindi lamang simpleng imprastraktura; ito ay simbolo ng progresibo at malasakit na pamamahala. Patunay ito na sa pamamagitan ng tamang prayoridad at dedikasyon, ang pamahalaan ay kayang maging tunay na malapit at madaling lapitan ng bawat mamamayan.

Inaasahang magbubukas ang District Government Center sa unang quarter ng 2027.

𝐅𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦: 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡𝐲 𝐌𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚 𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐅𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞

A feeding program was successfully conducted recently in selected public elementary schools across the municipality of Abulug, led by our Municipal Mayor Hon. Marie Angelie A. Vargas in partnership with the SK Federation of Abulug, and the Local Youth Development Officer. SB Members, Barangay Officials and PNP-Abulug personnel were also present for the said activity.

The initiative aimed to fight malnutrition and boost learners’ health, ensuring learners are energized and ready for their studies. At each school visited, teachers and students warmly welcomed Mayor Vargas alongside SK and LYDO officials, SB Members, Barangay Officials, and PNP personnel who personally distributed nutritious meals. Moreover, aside from having a full tummy of the learners, it was also a fun-filled activity for there were parlor games and a simple gift giving. The feeding program started before the class hours in each school visited.

School heads, teachers, and parents expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the local government's continuous support for the welfare and future of the youth in Abulug.

The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) Office of Abulug, spearheaded by Election Officer III Rizza F. Torrejas, successfully conducted the Election Seminar for the Youth. The initiative aimed to educate, empower, and equip the local youth leaders and upcoming voters of Abulug with essential knowledge on electoral processes, civic duty, and informed suffrage.

Hon. Marie Angelie A. Vargas attended the said activity and delivered an inspiring message emphasizing the role of youth in nation-building and local governance. She encouraged the participants to take an active stance in safeguarding democratic integrity and urged them to practice responsible voting.

Hon. Daphnie D. Cabagui, SK Federation President of Abulug was also present and highlighted the responsibility of the Sangguniang Kabataan and local youth organizations in leading by example.

Reneo Gumiran Jr., Local Legislative Staff Officer II of LGU-Abulug and and Roberto Reynon, RCrim served as resource speakers of the 3-day election seminar and discussed voter rights, electoral ethics, and how to combat misinformation.

The Election Seminar for the Youth concluded with renewed enthusiasm among participants to participate in upcoming elections and advocate for good governance.

The Community Training and Employment Coordinators (CTEC) and Technical-Vocational Schools Conference was successfully conducted on August 6–7, 2026, at LGU-Abulug spearheaded by TESDA Cagayan Provincial Director Genaro Ronald C. Ibay and hosted by LGU-Abulug through its Community Training and Employment Coordinator Felma M. Deza, the two-day conference gathered local workforce development officers and TVET administrators to align strategies, enhance skills training delivery, and strengthen employment facilitation across the province.

Through the joint leadership of TESDA Cagayan and LGU-Abulug headed by Hon. Marie Angelie A. Vargas, the event reinforced the shared mission of empowering communities through skill development, certified qualifications, and sustainable employment opportunities that transpired to a solid commitment from all delegates to advance development in Cagayan.

𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐑𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤 𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧

Sa pagdiriwang ng National Disability Rights Week, muling binigyan ng walang-sawang suporta ng LGU-Abulug ang sektor ng mga Person with Disability (PWD). Sa pangunguna ng masipag na Punong Bayan, Hon.Marie Angelie A. Vargas, katuwang ang mga dedikadong kawani ng Municipal Social Welfare and Development (MSWD) at Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO), matagumpay na naisagawa ang pamamahagi ng tulong sa lahat ng barangay sa bayan.

Personal na binisita at hindi pinalampas ni Mayor Vargas ang pagkakataon na makausap ang bawat isa, kumustahin ang kanilang kalagayan, at ipaabot ang tulong na inihanda ng lokal na pamahalaan.

"Ang ating mga kababayang PWD ay hindi hiwalay sa ating lipunan; sila ay mahalagang bahagi ng ating bayan “pahayag ni Mayor Vargas sa kanyang maikling mensahe sa lahat. Binigyang-diin din ni Mayor Angel na ang ganitong mga programa ay patuloy na isusulong upang matiyak na ang bawat karapatan at pangangailangan ng sektor ay natutugunan nang may pagmamahal at respeto.

Ang simpleng pamamahagi ng tulong ay nag-iwan ng malalim na marka ng pag-asa at inspirasyon, isang patunay na sa Abulug, walang sinuman ang maiiwan.

Sa tulong ng Public Employment Services Office (PESO) at DOLE-TUPAD Program, matagumpay na naisagawa ang DOLE-TUPAD Profiling upang magbigay tulong at oportunidad sa ating kababayan.

Sa programang ito, batid ng butihing si Mayor Angel na tiyakin ang tulong ay makakarating sa mga nangangailangan upang maiangat ang bawat antas ng pamilya sa Bayan ng Abulug.

Nito lamang July 31, 2026, matagumpay na isinagawa ang Project Katha Validation para sa Tayak Agri-Fishery Producers Association (TAFPA)/ Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) Ang naturang gawain ay pinangunahan ng Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) sa pamamagitan ng pagtutulungan ng National Program Management Office (NPMO), Regional Program Management Office (RPMO), at Provincial Management Office (PMO).

Isinailalim sa serye ng pagsasanay ang mga kasapi ng Sustainable Livelihood Program Association (SLPA). Kabilang din sa mga pangunahing layunin ng pagbisita ang masusing assessment ng kanilang mga produkto, aktwal na site visit sa pasilidad ng kanilang paggawa ng alak (wine production), at isang produktibong feedbacking session upang lalo pang mapalago at mapataas ang kalidad ng kanilang pangkabuhayan.

Naging maayos at matagumpay ang buong proseso sa pangangasiwa at koordinasyon ng MSWDO at Project Development Officer II DC Rose A. Pagarigan at Gener Dela Cruz.

Lubos din ang naging suporta ng Lokal na Pamahalaan ng Abulug sa pangunguna ni Mayor Marie Angelie A. Vargas na patuloy na nakatutok at umaalalay sa mga programang naglalayong maiangat ang antas ng pamumuhay ng mga mamamayan sa komunidad.

Bukod pa rito, inilunsad din ng DSWD at MSWD ang Unified Package for Livelihood, Industry, Food and Transport (UPLIFT) Program na kung saan binigyan tulong ang ating mga mamamayan.
