In strengthening awareness and collaborative efforts in addressing gender-based violence within the municipality, the Commission on Human Rights (CHR) Region I, in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Agoo, successfully conducted a Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Mapping Activity today, June 23, 2026, at the Mayor's Conference Hall, Agoo Municipal Building.
The activity brought together Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC) Desk Officers from various barangays, civil society organization (CSO) partners, representatives from different sectors, and focal persons on VAWC in the Local Government Unit of Agoo.
Through policy discussions and focus group discussions facilitated by CHR Region I, in coordination with the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), the stakeholders were able to have better understanding of gender-based violence issues, share insights and experiences, and identify existing challenges and available support mechanisms within the community.
The activity also highlighted the importance of collaboration among government agencies, community organizations, and other stakeholders in promoting safe, inclusive, and gender-responsive communities.
As the activity concluded, stakeholders expressed their commitment to continue working together in promoting gender-responsive programs and strengthening local efforts to address gender-based violence, protecting the welfare of all Kailian. ๐
