PNP Holds School Symposium on Drug Addiction, Bullying, and School Criminal Acts
Aguilar PNP Personnel conducted a meaningful symposium on Drug Addiction, Bullying, and School Criminal Acts on July 8, 2026 at Tampac Integrated School as part of schoolโ€™s continuing commitment to fostering a safe, disciplined, and drug-free learning environment.
The activity was spearheaded by personnel from the Philippine National Police (PNP), headed by PMAJ Mark Ryan C. Taminaya, OIC, who served as the resource speaker together with members of the PNP team. The symposium gathered learners, teachers, and school personnel to strengthen their awareness of issues affecting the youth and to encourage responsible decision-making. During the discussion, the resource speakers emphasized the harmful effects of illegal drugs on individuals, families, and communities and the negative effects of bullying among learners. The symposium also tackled the growing concern of bullying in schools, highlighting the different forms of bullying, its emotional and psychological impact on victims, and the legal consequences faced by those who engage in such acts. Learners were reminded to uphold respect, kindness, and empathy in their daily interactions and to immediately report incidents of bullying to school authorities. In addition, PMAJ Taminaya discussed school-related criminal acts and other offenses involving minors, explaining the importance of understanding the law and the responsibilities of every student as members of the community. Overall, the speakers encouraged everyone to become active partners in maintaining peace and order within the school and beyond.
The symposium aimed to provide learners and teachers with essential knowledge and heightened awareness to help them recognize and avoid harmful influences, encourage responsible decision-making, and foster respect for the law. Through engaging discussions and real-life examples, participants developed a deeper understanding of the importance of making wise choices and becoming responsible, law-abiding members of society.
As part of the Information and Educational Campaign, informative flyers containing key messages on drug prevention, anti-bullying, and crime prevention were distributed to all participants. These materials served as helpful references to reinforce the lessons shared during the symposium and to encourage continuous awareness even after the activity. Furthermore, teachers were also oriented about what do and how to do during an emergency situation. In this connection, a simulation exercise was conducted to enhance the preparedness, promote awareness, and strengthen emergency response among learners, and faculty staff. This initiative reinforces preventive measures to have proper response during an emergency situation.
The school faculty and teaching staff headed by Dr. Racelyn R. Limos expressed its sincere appreciation to the Philippine National Police, led by PMAJ Mark Ryan C. Taminaya, for their unwavering support in educating the youth and strengthening the partnership between the school and law enforcement agencies. The successful conduct of the symposium reflects Tampac Integrated School's commitment to producing responsible, informed, and values-driven learners who contribute positively to their community with the proactive actions, initiative and cooperation of the PNP.
