Pinangunahan ni 𝐎𝐈𝐂-𝐏𝐚𝐧𝐥𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐰𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐤𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐈𝐚𝐧 𝐉𝐨𝐧 𝐒. 𝐂𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞 ang pagbisita at nakipagpulong kay 𝐌𝐚𝐲𝐨𝐫 𝐋𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐡 “𝐘𝐛𝐢𝐧𝐠” 𝐉. 𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐚, 𝐌𝐏𝐀. Nakibahagi rin sa pagpupulong ang kanyang asawa na si 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐌𝐚𝐲𝐨𝐫 𝐕𝐢𝐜 𝐏𝐚𝐮𝐥 “𝐍𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐲” 𝐌. 𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐚, 𝐌𝐏𝐀, na kasalukuyang Municipal Administrator ng Alabel, gayundin si 𝐊𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐝 𝐁𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐨 “𝐍𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐲” 𝐏𝐚𝐜𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐚𝐨.

Naging pagkakataon ang pagpupulong upang makapagpalitan ng pananaw hinggil sa 𝐥𝐨𝐤𝐚𝐥 𝐧𝐚 𝐩𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐚, mga prayoridad ng bayan, at mga programa at inisyatibang patuloy na isinusulong para sa kapakanan ng mga mamamayan.

Binigyang-diin ang kahalagahan ng 𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐰 𝐧𝐚 𝐤𝐨𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐤𝐚𝐬𝐲𝐨𝐧, 𝐦𝐚𝐚𝐲𝐨𝐬 𝐧𝐚 𝐤𝐨𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐬𝐲𝐨𝐧, 𝐚𝐭 𝐩𝐚𝐠𝐭𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐥𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐧 sa pagitan ng DILG at Pamahalaang Bayan ng Alabel. Sa pamamagitan ng tuloy-tuloy na ugnayan, napalalakas ang sama-samang pagkilos tungo sa mahusay na pagpapatupad ng mga programa at serbisyo.

Tinalakay rin ang mahalagang papel ng 𝐛𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐭 𝐨𝐩𝐢𝐬𝐲𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐭 𝐤𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐢 sa pagsasakatuparan ng mga layunin ng lokal na pamahalaan. Ang kanilang dedikasyon at pagtutulungan ay mahalagang bahagi ng pagbibigay ng episyente at maayos na serbisyo sa komunidad.

Para kay PD Clemente, mahalaga ang 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐧𝐚 𝐩𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐤𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐠-𝐮𝐠𝐧𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐧 𝐬𝐚 𝐦𝐠𝐚 𝐥𝐨𝐤𝐚𝐥 𝐧𝐚 𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐧𝐨 upang mapalalim ang pagkakaunawaan at mapalakas ang koordinasyon sa mga programa at inisyatiba ng pamahalaan. Ang ganitong mga pagbisita ay nagsisilbi ring pagkakataon upang mapalawak ang mga ugnayang nagbibigay-daan sa mas aktibong pagtutulungan.

Samantala, ipinakita ng Pamahalaang Bayan ng Alabel ang patuloy na 𝐩𝐚𝐠𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚 𝐚𝐭 𝐩𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐤𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐠𝐭𝐮𝐥𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐧 𝐬𝐚 𝐃𝐈𝐋𝐆 sa pagsusulong ng mga programa at hakbang na nakatuon sa kapakanan ng mga mamamayan ng Alabel.

𝐌𝐀𝐋𝐀𝐏𝐀𝐓𝐀𝐍, 𝐒𝐀𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐆𝐀𝐍𝐈 — 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐨 𝟏𝟖, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔. The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) – Sarangani, through OIC-Provincial Director 𝐈𝐚𝐧 𝐉𝐨𝐧 𝐒. 𝐂𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞, OIC-Program Manager 𝐒𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐥 𝐃. 𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐧, and Project Evaluation Officer II 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐞 𝐍. 𝐀𝐦𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐚, oversaw the implementation of the FY 2026 Assistance to Indigent Individuals or Families – Food Assistance–Rice Distribution (AIIF-FRD) Project of the Province of Sarangani.

The activity marked the start of the 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 under the Provincial Local Government Unit (PLGU) of Sarangani’s FY 2026 Local Government Support Fund – Financial Assistance to Local Government Units (LGSF-FALGU) AIIF-FRD Project, bringing much-needed food assistance closer to qualified beneficiaries across the province.

Joining the distribution were 𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐨𝐫 𝐑𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐨 𝐃. 𝐏𝐚𝐜𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐚𝐨, 𝐌𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐲𝐨𝐫 𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐃. 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐛𝐨, 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐝𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐀𝐭𝐭𝐲. 𝐑𝐲𝐚𝐧 𝐑𝐚𝐦𝐨𝐬, 𝐑𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐚 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐲𝐚 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐫. 𝐑𝐮𝐞𝐥 𝐐𝐮𝐢𝐚𝐦𝐜𝐨, and Punong Barangays, who personally witnessed and supported the rollout of the assistance.

During the activity, at least 𝟏,𝟑𝟎𝟎 𝐛𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝟓 𝐛𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐧 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞, providing immediate support to families who continue to face economic challenges and rising household needs.

In his message, 𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐨𝐫 𝐏𝐚𝐜𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐚𝐨 emphasized that the assistance is part of the national government’s continuing support under the administration of 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐅𝐞𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑. 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐨𝐬 𝐉𝐫. (𝐏𝐁𝐁𝐌). He underscored that the program demonstrates the national government’s commitment to extending assistance to communities through strong coordination with local government units.

The Governor also shared the efforts undertaken by his administration to secure additional support for the people of Sarangani. During his week-long visit to Manila, he and his team met with national government agencies and national leaders to seek assistance and establish partnerships for programs that would benefit Sarangani. These engagements, he said, resulted in commitments from key national officials that could further strengthen government assistance and development initiatives in the province.

Under the 𝐀𝐈𝐈𝐅-𝐅𝐑𝐃 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭, a total of 𝟑𝟐,𝟑𝟓𝟒 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐬 have been identified as beneficiaries. Each household is allocated 𝟏𝟎 𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝, with assistance to be provided through four distribution rounds.

The identified beneficiaries include 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐧𝐞𝐚𝐫-𝐩𝐨𝐨𝐫 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐬, vulnerable sectors such as persons with disabilities (PWDs), senior citizens, and solo parents, minimum wage earners, and other deserving individuals and families experiencing crisis or economic difficulty, as determined by the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO).

More than the distribution of rice, the initiative underscores the 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐠𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 in ensuring that essential public assistance reaches identified beneficiaries. 𝐆𝐄𝐍𝐄𝐑𝐀𝐋 𝐒𝐀𝐍𝐓𝐎𝐒 𝐂𝐈𝐓𝐘 — The five Special Action Committees (SACs) of the Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC) of Sarangani convened their 𝐉𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝟑𝐫𝐝 𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 on 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟏𝟒, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, to address emerging peace, security, and development concerns in the province.

The meeting brought together key stakeholders from the SACs on 𝐀𝐧𝐭𝐢-𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲, 𝐀𝐧𝐭𝐢-𝐂𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐏𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐲, 𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐭 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐬 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭. Discussions centered on 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐞 𝐠𝐚𝐩𝐬, 𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬, 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐞, 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧-𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 among concerned agencies.

Stakeholders also identified measures to improve 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐬.

As a key outcome, the SACs adopted 𝟏𝟕 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 for endorsement to the 𝟑𝐫𝐝 𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐏𝐏𝐎𝐂 𝐦𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 on 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟐𝟕, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔. The proposed measures include 𝐇𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐑𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐟 (𝐇𝐀𝐃𝐑) 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐨𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐆𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐝.

The resolutions reflect the collective efforts of SAC members and partner agencies to translate 𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐠𝐚𝐩𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐮𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐞 𝐩𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐲 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬. Through sustained collaboration, the committees contribute to strengthening the province’s 𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐦𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐦𝐬 while supporting broader development objectives.

The shift follows the return of certain 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐬 (𝐋𝐆𝐔𝐬) to the regular workweek, resulting in the reinstatement of the standard five-day work schedule in the corresponding DILG Field Offices.

This replaces the previously implemented 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐫-𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐤 𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 under 𝐃𝐈𝐋𝐆 𝐂𝐢𝐫𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐍𝐨. 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔-𝟎𝟎𝟓, which was implemented in compliance with 𝐌𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐦 𝐂𝐢𝐫𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐍𝐨. 𝟏𝟏𝟒, 𝐬. 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 issued by the 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭.

For 𝐃𝐈𝐋𝐆 𝐒𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞, the regular work schedule shall be:

Meanwhile, the 𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬 prescribed under 𝐃𝐈𝐋𝐆 𝐂𝐢𝐫𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐍𝐨. 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔-𝟎𝟎𝟒 shall remain in full force and effect unless revoked or modified.

The activity was conducted under the 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 (𝐑𝐈𝐃𝐒) of the 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 (𝐒𝐋𝐆𝐏) and brought together barangay officials, BPMEC members, civil society organizations (CSOs), and other stakeholders from partner local government units (LGUs). 𝐃𝐈𝐋𝐆 𝐒𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞 participated in the activity, together with selected participants from 𝐒𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐨 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬, with the assistance and coordination of their respective Municipal Local Government Operations Officers (MLGOOs).

The capacity-building activity emphasized the importance of an 𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐁𝐏𝐌𝐄𝐂 𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐦𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐦 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲, 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐠𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. As projects funded and implemented through government programs reach the barangay level, barangay officials and BPMEC members have a vital responsibility to help ensure that these projects are implemented according to approved plans, specifications, timelines, and applicable government standards.

The 𝐁𝐏𝐌𝐄𝐂 serves as an important community-level partner in monitoring projects within the barangay. Its members are expected to observe project implementation, document issues and concerns, participate in field validation, and promptly report significant findings through the appropriate channels. Through active monitoring, the committee can help protect government investments from deficiencies, delays, non-compliance, and other practices that may compromise the intended benefits of projects for the community.

Barangay officials, meanwhile, are expected to provide the necessary support for the organization and effective functioning of the 𝐁𝐏𝐌𝐄𝐂. They have a responsibility to promote transparency in the implementation of projects within their jurisdiction and to ensure that concerns raised by project monitors and community stakeholders are properly acted upon or elevated to the appropriate offices.

The activity also highlighted the importance of the 𝐌𝐋𝐆𝐎𝐎𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐬𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐦𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐦𝐬 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐥𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥. Beyond facilitating the participation of barangay officials and BPMEC members, MLGOOs play a crucial role in following through on project monitoring findings, coordinating with concerned stakeholders, and ensuring that appropriate responsibility and accountability are exacted when deficiencies or issues are identified. This strengthens the link between community-level monitoring and the broader local governance and oversight system.

The first day of the activity covered the mandates, legal bases, and framework of 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐬 (𝐋𝐏𝐌𝐂𝐬) 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐁𝐏𝐌𝐄𝐂𝐬, as well as contract management, construction supervision, and the project development cycle. The second day focused on common findings in road, water, and building projects, field validation, and the fundamentals of project monitoring.

These sessions provided participants with practical knowledge on 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭, 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐮𝐞𝐬 encountered during infrastructure implementation.

𝐌𝐀𝐀𝐒𝐈𝐌, 𝐒𝐀𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐆𝐀𝐍𝐈 — The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Sarangani Provincial Office paid a courtesy visit to the Municipality of Maasim on 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟏𝟎, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, led by its new OIC-Provincial Director 𝐈𝐚𝐧 𝐉𝐨𝐧 𝐒. 𝐂𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞, as part of its continuing efforts to strengthen coordination and partnership with local government units.

The DILG team, led by OIC-Provincial Director 𝐈𝐚𝐧 𝐉𝐨𝐧 𝐒. 𝐂𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞, was joined by Outcome Manager 𝐀𝐧𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐲𝐧 𝐒. 𝐃𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐨, MLGOO-Maasim 𝐑𝐨𝐝𝐨𝐥𝐟𝐨 𝐇. 𝐉𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐳, MLGOO-Malapatan 𝐌𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐨 𝐑. 𝐁𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠, 𝐉𝐫., and LGOO II 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐫. 𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐭 𝐒. 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐜𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐨.

The team was warmly received by Municipal Mayor 𝐙𝐲𝐫𝐞𝐱 𝐂. 𝐏𝐚𝐜𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐚𝐨, providing an opportunity for both the DILG and the municipal government to exchange updates and discuss matters relevant to the continued delivery of effective and responsive public service.

During the courtesy visit, the officials discussed the municipality’s 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 and response efforts, highlighting the importance of maintaining strong coordination among local government offices, responders, and other concerned stakeholders. The discussion emphasized the need for communities to remain prepared and for local mechanisms to be continuously strengthened to effectively respond to emergencies and other unforeseen situations.

The meeting also touched on various programs and initiatives being implemented by the DILG and the Local Government Unit of Maasim. These included matters related to local governance, program implementation, public service delivery, and other initiatives that support the welfare and development of the municipality.

The courtesy visit likewise served as an opportunity for OIC-Provincial Director 𝐈𝐚𝐧 𝐉𝐨𝐧 𝐒. 𝐂𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞 to formally engage with the municipal leadership following his designation as the new OIC-Provincial Director of DILG Sarangani. The engagement underscored the importance of maintaining open communication between the DILG Provincial Office and its partner LGUs in addressing local concerns and supporting good local governance.

Both sides recognized that strong collaboration and regular coordination are essential in ensuring that government programs are properly implemented and that local concerns are addressed in a timely and responsive manner. The discussion also provided an avenue to identify areas where DILG can continue to provide guidance and support to the municipality.

The 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 conducted the assessment and validation from 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟬 𝘁𝗼 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝟭𝟰, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, evaluating the documentary requirements submitted by the LGUs and their compliance with the prescribed program indicators.

The successful assessment reflects more than compliance with program requirements. It underscores the 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀 of the provincial and municipal governments in creating workplaces where government employees can perform their duties in an environment that promotes 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆, 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵, 𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆.

For the four LGUs, maintaining a 𝗱𝗿𝘂𝗴-𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 is an essential component of protecting their most valuable resource—their people. Illegal drug use can have serious consequences on an individual's physical and mental well-being, relationships, productivity, and capacity to perform public service effectively. By strengthening 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀, 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘀, and 𝗱𝗿𝘂𝗴-𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝘀, the LGUs reaffirm their commitment to protecting employees from the harmful effects associated with illegal drugs.

This initiative also reflects the leaders' commitment to ensuring that 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 remain priorities in the workplace. The achievement is a testament to what can be accomplished through 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽, 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. More importantly, it reinforces the province's continuing advocacy for communities and workplaces that are 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲, 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵𝘆, 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗹𝘂𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝗿𝘂𝗴𝘀.

Nagsimula ang pag-ikot sa bayan ng 𝐌𝐚𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐦 noong umaga. Mainit na tinanggap ng grupo ni Mayor 𝐉𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐁. 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐭, Municipal Administrator 𝐑𝐮𝐛𝐞𝐧 𝐁𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠, at ng mga head ng iba't ibang departamento ng munisipyo ang DILG team. Kasama rin sa pagtitipon sina Maitum Chief of Police 𝐑𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥 𝐁. 𝐀𝐫𝐮𝐞𝐥𝐨, 𝐃𝐈𝐋𝐆 𝐒𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢 Outcome Manager 𝐀𝐧𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐲𝐧 𝐒. 𝐃𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐨, at Maitum MLGOO 𝐌𝐞𝐫𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐚 𝐄. 𝐉𝐨𝐦𝐮𝐚𝐝.

Sa hapon naman, nagtungo ang 𝐃𝐈𝐋𝐆 Team sa bayan ng 𝐊𝐢𝐚𝐦𝐛𝐚. Sinalubong sila nina Mayor 𝐆𝐞𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐞 𝐅. 𝐅𝐚𝐥𝐠𝐮𝐢, Municipal Administrator 𝐀𝐥𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐨 𝐂. 𝐁𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠, at ng mga departamento ng munisipyo. Dumalo rin sa munting pagpupulong na ito sina Kiamba Chief of Police 𝐄𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐞𝐥 𝐘. 𝐋𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐬𝐚, kinatawan mula sa 𝐁𝐅𝐏, at Kiamba OIC-MLGOO 𝐂𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐀. 𝐌𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐨𝐧.

Naging magaan at makabuluhan ang palitan ng kuro-kuro sa pagitan ng 𝐃𝐈𝐋𝐆, mga opisyal ng bayan, at ng ating kapulisan at 𝐁𝐅𝐏. Napag-usapan dito ang mga kasalukuyang programa ng 𝐃𝐈𝐋𝐆, mga suliranin at pangangailangan ng mga LGU, at mga simpleng paraan upang mas mapabilis ang serbisyo publiko at mas mapanatili ang kapayapaan sa mga komunidad.
