Partnering for a Safe and Secure School Community

Dear Students, Teachers, and Parents,

As we look forward to another incredible week of learning and growth, I want to take a moment to speak directly to you about our absolute top priority: the safety and security of our school community.

A great secondary school is built on a foundation of trust and peace of mind. When our campus is secure, our minds are free to focus on teaching, learning, and thrive. Keeping our school safe is not the job of just one person or security team—it is a shared responsibility that requires active partnership from every single one of us.

Here is how each of us plays a vital role in maintaining a secure environment:

1. To Our Students: Watch Out for One Another

Your choices and alertness define the daily environment of our school.

Follow Campus Entry Rules: Always wear your school ID prominently and enter through designated gates. These protocols ensure we know exactly who is on campus.

See Something, Say Something: If you notice an unfamiliar person without a visitor's pass, spot a potential safety hazard, or hear about a threat (online or offline), report it immediately to a teacher or administrator. Looking out for your peers is a sign of leadership, not "snitching."

Look After Your Belongings: Keep your personal items secure and respect school property.

2. To Our Teachers and Staff: The First Line of Care

You are the anchors of our daily operations, and your vigilance keeps our hallways safe.

Maintain Classroom Safety: Ensure your classrooms are supervised, doors are locked when required by school policy, and emergency exit routes remain completely clear.

Know Your Emergency Procedures: Familiarize yourself with our standard response protocols for drills and evacuations. In an emergency, your calm guidance is what keeps our students safe.

Build Trusting Relationships: Often, a student will share a safety concern only if they feel comfortable with an adult. Continue fostering spaces where students feel safe to speak up.

3. To Our Parents and Guardians: Our Essential Partners

Safety does not stop at the school gates; it begins at home and relies heavily on your cooperation.

Respect Campus Check-In Policies: When visiting the school, please always log in at the security gate and report directly to the administration office.

Talk Openly at Home: Have regular conversations with your teenagers about digital safety, situational awareness, and the importance of reporting concerns rather than spreading rumors on social media.

Keep Emergency Contacts Updated: Ensure the school has your correct phone numbers and backup contacts so we can reach you instantly if an emergency arises.

Our Collective Commitment: Safety is an ongoing, everyday practice. By working together—communicating openly, respecting school rules, and staying alert—we ensure that our school , Masarawag NHS remains a sanctuary for education and a place where everyone feels secure.

Thank you for your unwavering cooperation, vigilance, and dedication to our school family.

Sincerely,

JESUS V. LOCABA
Principal, Masarawag NHS
