Delegates from Arboleda National High School and Canarvacanan National High School participated in the Young Leaders' Congress: Advancing Children's Participation and Advocacy held at the Pangasinan Training and Development Center, Capitol Complex, Lingayen, Pangasinan on the date July 25, 2026.
MFSSLG Vice-President Lora Gem Blanco of Arboleda NHS and MFSSLG Auditor Glorious Joy Valdez of Canarvacanan NHS, together with their advisers Sir Jerell Ventura, Ma'am Jessalyn Madronio, and Sir Jomar Galapate participated in the congress. The congress served as a venue to strengthen youth leadership and promote meaningful child participation through learning, collaboration, and advocacy.
The congress featured insightful discussions from Ms. Marycon Lian T. Berna on Rights and Meaningful Child Participation, emphasizing that every child has the right to be heard, valued, and involved in decisions that affect their lives.
Mr. Mark Gerry Oblanca also shared an inspiring session on Leadership and Advocacy for Young Leaders, encouraging participants to lead with integrity, compassion, and purpose.
Delegates actively participated in workshops, collaborative discussions, and the crafting of Children's Development Action Plans that addressed issues affecting children and youth. These activities equipped young leaders with the knowledge and skills needed to become stronger advocates for their fellow learners and communities.
The event provided participants with an opportunity to deepen their understanding of children's rights, leadership, and youth advocacy while connecting with fellow student-leaders, Indigenous people, Muslim communities, and people that are part of the LGBTQIA+ community across Pangasinan.
More than gaining knowledge, the congress inspired every delegate to transform ideas into meaningful action and become voices for positive change.
