𝗗𝗢𝗟𝗘 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 ₱𝟭.𝟮 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝗹𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗮, 𝗖𝗮𝗴𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗻

ALCALA, Cagayan – More than ₱1.2 million worth of livelihood assistance was awarded to skilled beneficiaries in Alcala, Cagayan as the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) continues to bring employment and livelihood opportunities closer to vulnerable sectors in the community.

The activity forms part of the continuing efforts of the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and DOLE Secretary Francis N. Tolentino to advance the Trabaho Agad program and provide livelihood assistance to vulnerable sectors to help generate employment and income.

Through the leadership of DOLE Region 2 Regional Director Imelda E. Romanillos and Cagayan Field Office Head Laura B. Diciano, the Department distributed more than ₱1.2 million worth of livelihood assistance to one association engaged in bread and pastry production, 13 parents of child laborers, 39 individual beneficiaries, and three to***co farmers and growers.

CLAVERIA, Cagayan – The Cagayan Public Employment Service Office (CAPESO) recently held its 2nd Quarter Meeting to strengthen employment facilitation and improve the delivery of employment services, in line with the directive of Labor Secretary Francis N. Tolentino to expand access to decent work opportunities.

The meeting, facilitated with the assistance of DOLE Cagayan Field Office, gathered 36 participants from 27 municipal PESOs, the Provincial Government of Cagayan PESO, three Job Placement Offices (JPOs), and DOLE personnel to discuss program updates, targets, and emerging policies affecting the delivery of employment services in the province. First-time participants from the JPOs of Cagayan State University-Andrews Campus and Lyceum Institute of Technology were also formally welcomed during the activity.

DOLE Cagayan Field Office Chief Laura B. Diciano presented updates on key employment programs and services, including livelihood assistance, youth employment initiatives, labor market information activities, and new guidelines on the implementation of various DOLE programs.

Regional Director Jesus Elpidio B. Atal Jr. underscored the vital role of PESOs as DOLE’s frontline partners in bringing employment opportunities and services closer to communities.

He emphasized that the effectiveness of PESOs should not be measured solely by the number of registered applicants or job placements, but by their contribution to addressing local employment needs and improving access to opportunities for workers and jobseekers.

The Director also encouraged PESO Managers to continue innovating and strengthening their services, stressing the importance of collaboration in addressing unemployment and underemployment in the province.
