In light of the Red Alert Status declared by both the Cebu Provincial Government and the Cebu City Government due to Tropical Storm Tino, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-Cebu Provincial Office, located at corner Osmeña Blvd. and Lapu-Lapu St., Cebu City, and all Negosyo Centers in Cebu will implement a Work-From-Home (WFH) arrangement effective November 3, 2025, until further notice to ensure the safety of all personnel.

A skeletal workforce will remain on-site at the DTI Cebu Provincial Office to ensure the continuity of essential operations and to safeguard the office premises, facilities, and property in preparation for the expected landfall of Tropical Storm Tino.

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), through the Business Name Registration Division – Policy and Monitoring Unit (BNRD-PMU), is currently reviewing and revising the Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) of the Business Name Law (Act No. 3883) to keep pace with modern business practices and technological advancements.

In Valencia, Negros Oriental, Michael Alano turned a humble collaboration hub into Subida Souvenirs—a multi-awarded, socially driven enterprise that uplifts Filipino artisans and celebrates local culture.

Through programs like DTI’s One Town, One Product (OTOP) and DOST’s SETUP, Subida grew from handmade beginnings to national recognition—all while empowering 68 local craft workers, including PWDs and grassroots creatives.

Even after pandemic setbacks, Michael chose to rebuild with even greater heart. Today, Subida stands as a living testament to resilience, heritage, and the power of community-led innovation.
