Panagtigi 2026 was a masterpiece of motion and light. But behind the shimmering veil of the finished event lies the untranslated story of the people working on the shadowsโthe student officers. For every moment of applauseโ there was a midnight hour spent in the trenches of exhaustion. To build this fire, they had to offer up their own rest as kindling; to make the beautiful possible, they navigated a storm of invisible struggles, silent sacrifices, and the heavy weight of expectations.
And now we are going to share the soul of the storyโthe grit beneath the glamour. The ๐๐๐๐๐๐ฉ ๐จ๐ ๐๐๐ง๐๐ ๐ญ๐ข๐ ๐ข ๐๐๐๐

Initially, we were filled with a lighthearted excitement for the upcoming event. There was
a glimmer of hope that everything would go exactly as plannedโas we had been
preparing for this for quite some time. However, reality soon began to push back against
us. We were met with significant setbacks โโthe late collection of college fees, low
funds, and ultimately, no budget to cover our mounting expenses.
The weight of these problems left us questioning everything. "Unsaon mani pagsulbad
na problema?" and "Madayon pa ba ning Panagtigi?" became the loops playing in our
minds. These uncertainties often brought us to a stunned silence, yet that small spark
of hope never truly died. Instead, it forced us to think outside the box and find possible
solutions to keep the event alive.
"God will provide," Governor Miles kept reminding us, and we held onto that faith with
everything we had. We clung to that promise, and through sheer persistence, we
managed to survive the financial crisis. With that hurdle cleared, the true preparation
began. The workload was immense, and every officer was required to give their absolute
best.
It was an incredibly stressful time; tempers were short, and the atmosphere was tense.
It was a cycle of constant laborโPanday diri, Panday dito. Alsa diri, Alsa didto. Sugo diri,
sugo napod didto. Edit diri, post dayon dal-dali. It was physically and mentally draining,
where even the slightest misunderstanding could trigger an argument.
Angeline, our Business Manager, acted as the "mother" of the LSG, though we jokingly
branded her "The Dragon" because of her constant nagging. To be honest, her loud voice
was often painful to the ears, and seeing her angry was intimidating. However, her
intensity was exactly what we needed to stay disciplined and focused on our tasks.
Without her constant push, we wouldn't have remained as productive as we were.
The shouts of "Asa naman ni si โโrandom officer na absentโ wala lagi. Duty pod, busy na
kaayo mi diriโ became our daily background noise. We couldn't really argue because, on
top of Angelineโs reminders,
The Vice Governor, lemuel was also relentlessly giving out
orders. He was constantly calling for the "big boys" of CAALSG to help with the set ups,
but since our leadership consisted mostly of baby girls, the girls and girlypops had to
step up and lead the heavy lifting themselves.
The preparation of the set up phase was both exhausting and chaotic. At one point, the
girls were even tasked with setting up the mega tent because the boys were nowhere to
be found. "Debbie, naog na didto kay mag set up na ang mega tent" is a line from
Lemuel that can be still remember vividly. Itโs a funny memory now, but at the time, it
was a testament to our desperation.
Eventually, when the tent arrived, Lemuel and the
big boysโReid, Paul, and Kentโjoined in to finish the job. While the physical setup was underway, there was also the mountain of paperwork and
digital content to handle. While others were rushing to theb set ups, Micah was feeling
the pressure of her own tasks. "Guys, pagdali mo og print kay magsugod nako og print
sa mga certificates" she would
say. We laughed at her reasoning, but it was a serious matterโthe certificates had to be
ready before the event started.
Lastly, the Creatives Team faced a different kind of exhaustion. They may not have
been doing manual labor, but they were mentally drained, battling strained eyes and a
painfully slow internet connection. Jem and Keziah who edits and make sure that there will be a presentation to present and music to be played during the event. Dan who drank a lot of coffees just to keep his brain
functioning and stay awake for the endless pubmats. Sabryn had to work from home
initially just to find a decent signal to edit, and Jhon, who was actually from the Fiscal
Committee, was essentially drafted into the Creatives Team to ensure our graphics
were posted on schedule. And also thereโs May Belle and Laurence who crafted the captions make sures that all the event will be posted on time.

The moment we had all been waiting for finally arrivedโthe culmination of days of
intense management and preparation. Throughout the three-day event, we wanted
everything to be perfect and go according to plan. However, as is the nature of live
events, things happened. We faced technical malfunctions, delays, and various other
hurdles. The lack of sleep and the habit of skipping meals to focus on the event made
the officers irritable, and tensions occasionally flared between us.
The hosts and VOsโMaybelle, Laurence, and Lalayโonly had a few minutes to practice
their scripts. Despite the clutch nature of their roles, they did their absolute best to keep
the event moving smoothly, hiding their hunger and sleepiness from the audience. Even
Jennifer, who is usually known for being silent and sweet, reached her breaking point. The combination of pressure, the scorching heat, and the lack of sleep pushed her past
her usual limits.
The Tabulation Team, consisting of Angelineโ Karl, Duane, Noe, Jhon, and Rhea, who was under
immense pressure. They were constantly calculating results, knowing that the final
judgment rested on their shoulders and that there was absolutely no room for error.Meanwhile, Arcie found herself acting as one of the "big boys," helping with the
construction and arrangement of the venue to ensure everything was in its proper place.
The Documentation TeamโJem, Keziah, and our volunteer, Markโremained dedicated
despite the heat and rain. They stayed on the move just to capture the necessary
footage for our updates. Our usherettes, Mariel, Dianne, Micahโ and Rochelle, had to maintain a
presentable appearance, smiling and walking gracefully across the stage with the
internal mantraโ"Don't show them how tired you are." They ensured the show continued
with elegance.
Our executivesโJodelyn, Debbie, and Jeshesโlooked the most exhausted of all. As
the ones overseeing everything, they had to be everywhere at once to ensure the
entire operation stayed on track.
It was a grueling experience, but everyone contributed a massive effort. We did it
because we wanted this event to be a success for the CAAggies. Despite the lack of
funds, we wanted the students to see that their money was being put to good use. We
put our hearts into this, and we hope that effort was visible to everyone. We were
tired, but we kept going so that the college fees wouldn't go to waste and everyone
could have a great time.
