SAFE SPACES START WITH US! 💙

On August 19, 2026, the GAD Program and Training Development Unit (GPTDU) conducted the CSU Safe Space Code Orientation for the faculty of the College of Engineering and Geo-Sciences (CEGS).

Just as engineers and geoscientists help shape the world around us, CEGS also helps shape a campus culture where everyone is respected, protected, and given a safe space to learn and grow. 🤝

CSU Safe Space Code Orientation Continues at the College of Computing and Information Sciences 💙💻

The GAD Program and Training Development Unit (GPTDU) conducted the CSU Safe Space Code Orientation at the College of Computing and Information Sciences (CCIS) on August 19, 2026, for its students, faculty, and staff.

The orientation aimed to strengthen awareness of the CSU Safe Space Code and promote a campus environment where respect, safety, equality, and inclusivity are upheld by everyone.

CCIS continues to code for a safer space—where respect is part of the system and inclusivity is part of the culture. 💻🤝

Today, August 18, 2026, the Caraga State University GAD Program and Training Development Unit continued the CSU Safe Space Code Orientation, this time with the School of Medicine.

The orientation aims to strengthen awareness and understanding of the CSU Safe Space Code, including the importance of promoting a safe, respectful, inclusive, and gender-responsive environment within the university.

Through this continuing college-wide orientation, CSU reinforces its commitment to creating spaces where everyone is treated with dignity, fairness, and respect. 💜

Dr. Michelle V. Japitana, the Vice President for Executive Operations at Caraga State University (CSU), has been officially conferred the 2026 Outstanding Professional of the Year Award in the field of Geodetic Engineering by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).

The Outstanding Professional of the Year Award is the highest and most coveted honor bestowed by the PRC upon a registered professional. It recognizes individuals who have demonstrated exemplary integrity, professional competence, and significant contributions to the advancement of their respective disciplines.

Dr. Japitana’s recognition showcases her distinguished career, technical expertise, and pioneering leadership in geodetic engineering, academic administration, and regional development initiatives within the Caraga region and beyond. An alumna of CSU, formerly the Northern Mindanao State Institute of Science and Technology (NORMISIST), Dr. Japitana has dedicated more than twenty years of service to the university.

The formal conferment shall be held in September.

Caraga State University congratulates Dr. Japitana for her commitment to academic excellence, innovative research, and national leadership in engineering and technology.

CSU Safe Space Code Orientation Conducted in the College of Education 💙

As part of the college-wide orientation on the CSU Safe Space Code, the GAD Program and Training Development Unit of Caraga State University conducted an orientation session today, August 14, 2026, for the College of Education (CEd).

The activity provided faculty and staff with an opportunity to understand the provisions of the CSU Safe Space Code, including the importance of maintaining a safe, respectful, inclusive, and gender-responsive environment within the university.

The orientation also highlighted the shared responsibility of the CSU community in promoting safe spaces and ensuring that everyone is treated with dignity, respect, and fairness.
