🌊 INSTALLATION AND DEMARCATION OF MARKER BUOYS SA BADIANG MARINE PROTECTED AREA 🐠⚓

Karung adlawa Malampusong nahimo ang pagtaod sa mga marker buoys sulod sa Badiang Marine Protected Area (MPA) isip kabahin sa padayon nga paningkamot sa pagpanalipod, pagpreserba, ug pagdumala sa atong mga bahandi sa kadagatan.

Ang maong kalihokan gipasiugdahan sa municipal coastal resource management ni sir Gil Gultiano uban sa aktibong partisipasyon sa Badiang Barangay Council gepanguluhan sa aktibo nga Barangay Kapitan Hon. Ranulfa Tapon, ug Badiang Fishermen Bafias Anda.

Ang mga marker buoys magsilbing
klarong timailhan sa mga utlanan sa marine protected area aron mapalig-on ang pagpatuman sa mga lagda ug mapanalipdan ang coral reefs, seagrass, mga isda, ug uban pang marine resources.

Dako among pasalamat sa tanan nga mitabang ug miapil sa maong kalihokan. Ang panaghiusa sa komunidad usa ka importante nga pundasyon aron mapadayon ang malungtarong pagdumala ug pagpanalipod sa atong kadagatan. 🌊💙

Monthly Giant Clam 🦪 Monitoring and Installation of Marker Buoys

Monitoring was conducted in Virgen Marine Protected Areas

Count: 62
Average shell length: 49.76 cm
Maximum shell size: 56 cm
Condition: Clams are healthy and continue to show growth

Monitoring was conducted by BPEMO-CRM division Staff ma'am Janice Dela Rosa Cutanda, Sir Japhet Cutanda, with the support of LGU Anda CRM Sir Gil Gultiano , Peace Corps Volunteer ma'am Lila Grace and VIFIAS PO President sir Escolastico Macato.

This activity is to monitor the growth of the giant clams (Tridacna gigas). They are still 62 pcs in good condition, only 20 pcs were measured permanently.

The Provincial Government of Bohol continues to strengthen marine conservation efforts through collaborative coastal cleanup activities.

This was after the Bohol Provincial Environment Management Office-Coastal Resource Management (BPEMO-CRM) technical staff participated in the Duero-Guindulman-Jagna-Anda (DUGJAN) Marine Protected Area Network Scubasero Activity in Guindulman as part of the celebration of the International Coastal Cleanup.

The activity brought together partner agencies, volunteers, and representatives from the local government units of Duero, Guindulman, Jagna, and Anda to remove marine debris from coastal waters and promote environmental stewardship.

Among the materials recovered were fishing lines, ropes, fishing nets, clothing, tires, a motorized boat, and other discarded items that pose risks to marine ecosystems.

The cleanup highlighted the importance of collective action in protecting coastal and marine resources and maintaining healthy ocean environments.

The activity supports the Provincial Government of Bohol’s Strategic Governance Roadmap by promoting environmental sustainability and strengthening community participation in the protection of marine ecosystems within the Bohol Island UNESCO Global Geopark.
