Angeles City Science High School Supreme Secondary Learner Government (ACSci SSLG) is the highest student governing body in the school. The Student Government Program is one of the major programs of the Department of Education under the Center for Students and Co-curricular Affairs. Every public and private elementary and secondary schools under the Department of Education (DepED) has its own stud

ent governments. They are usually called the Supreme Pupil Government or the SPG (for elementary) and Supreme Student Government or the SSG (for secondary). For the secondary school SSGs, the Constitution and By-Laws are adopted by all of the DepEd public and private high schools.

On June 15, 1991, the second largest eruption in the 20th century occurred, widely affecting people and their livelihood in several parts of Pampanga including Angeles City.

In commemoration of the 35th eruption of Mt. Pinatubo, the Office of the Mayor of Angeles City requested June 15, 2026 to be declared as a special non-working day in the city, suspending classes at all levels and government office work.

Thirty-five years ago, an eruption shook communities and livelihoods across Zambales, Pampanga, and Tarlac. Today, we remember it not only as a story of disaster, but also as one of resilience.

The Mt. Pinatubo eruption that happened on June 15, 1991 left millions of people affectedโ€”disrupting livelihoods, displacing families, and covering lands in ash and debris.

But the citizens refused to be stopped by layers of ash and debris from rising and rebuilding their homes. The disaster did not end in surrender, instead, it started another hope as residents used the scraps of the aftermath as determination to persevere. ๐Ÿ’ซ
