Angeles City – A suspect in a fatal shooting incident that occurred on the evening of April 29, 2025, in Barangay Cuayan, Angeles City has been successfully apprehended following relentless operations by the Angeles City Police Office (ACPO), with critical support and seamless coordination from Police Regional Office 5 (PRO5).

At around 8:00 PM on April 29, 2025, a shooting incident transpired at Purok 5, Gawad Kalinga, Brgy. Cuayan, resulting in the death of Rona Lorenzana y Inocencio, 32, a factory worker and resident of the area. Responding officers, led by PMAJ DEXTER C. EBBAT, arrived promptly at the scene and conducted an initial investigation, which confirmed the victim was found lifeless with a gunshot wound to the head. Witness accounts and physical evidence indicated the suspect, alias Jerry, security guard residing at Mont Clair, Brgy. Cuayan, fled the scene immediately after the crime.

Crime scene investigators recovered two fired bullets of caliber .38 from the location. Surveillance footage confirmed the suspect’s movements to and from the victim’s residence moments before and after the incident.

In the early hours of April 30, Angeles City police, in coordination with the suspect’s workplace, conducted a search of his barracks. There, they discovered a loaded ARMSCOR 2015 Cal. .38 SPL revolver identified as the firearm issued to the suspect hidden inside a blue water drum. The recovered weapon matched the description and ammunition consistent with the shooting.

Further intelligence efforts led investigators to trace the suspect’s intended escape to Pili, Camarines Sur. Through coordination with the suspect’s family and the local authorities in PRO5, ACPO was able to establish communication with the suspect’s relatives and deployed a flash alarm to Pili Municipal Police Station. By 1:30 PM on April 30, the suspect was located and arrested at his parents’ residence in Brgy. San Agustin, Pili.
ACPO operatives, led by PMAJ DEXTER C EBBAT, immediately traveled to Pili MPS to take custody of the suspect. He was transferred to Angeles City by the evening of May 1, 2025, where he underwent booking and forensic procedures.
