Philippine Mediation Unit Antipolo

The PMC Office is primarily be responsible for the development, implementation, monitoring and sustainability of SC ADR mechanisms, namely:



1. Appellate Court Mediation (ACM);
3. Judicial Dispute Resolution (JDR);
4. Mobile Court – Annexed Mediation (MCAM); and eventually
5. Court-Annexed Arbitration (CAA) and other Alternative Dispute Resolution mechanisms,


as well as the organization of P

MC Units as it may deem necessary throughout the country. It is under the operational control and supervision of PHILJA, in coordination with the Office of the Court Administrator, through the Executive Judges. On October 16, 2001, the Supreme Court established the Philippine Mediation Center (PMC) and designated the Philippine Judicial Academy (PHILJA) as its component unit for court-referred, court-related mediation cases, and other forms of Alternative Dispute Resolution mechanisms in keeping with the policy declared in Section 1 of RA 8557 “to ensure an efficient and credible Judiciary” in relation to Section 3 of the same law mandating PHILJA “to perform such other functions and duties as may be necessary in carrying out its mandate,” consistent with one of the objectives of the Action Program for Judicial Reform (APJR), particularly the decongestion of court dockets, and the enhancement of access to justice; and towards the effective implementation of Section 2(a), Rule 18 of the 1997 Rules of Civil Procedure.
