‎Today, we remember Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr., whose life and death became an important chapter in Philippine history and the country's journey toward democracy. On August 21, 1983, Ninoy was assassinated at the then-Manila International Airport after returning to the Philippines from exile. His death became a major turning point that helped fuel the movement for democratic change.
