CHED GRANTS COPC TO CSU APARRI’S MAEd PROGRAM

The Commission on Higher Education Regional Office II (CHED RO II) has granted a Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC) to the Master of Arts in Education major in Educational Management of Cagayan State University Aparri Campus, further strengthening the campus’ graduate education offerings.

In a First Indorsement dated September 2, 2026, CHED RO II formally informed Cagayan State University that the application for the issuance of the COPC for the MAEd program had been approved through CHED En Banc Resolution No. 563-2026, effective this Academic Year 2026–2027.

The CHED approval marks an important milestone for CSU Aparri as the campus continues to ensure that its academic programs meet the standards and requirements of the country’s higher education regulatory body.

The MAEd major in Educational Management provides opportunities for education professionals to deepen their knowledge and competencies in educational leadership, administration, and institutional management.

The grant of the COPC also reinforces the Graduate School's commitment to delivering quality, accessible, and relevant graduate education to educators and professionals in Cagayan and neighboring communities.

With the CHED COPC now secured, CSU Aparri continues to strengthen its position as a provider of quality graduate education in the region, empowering education professionals to become more capable leaders and managers in the field of education.

28 FACULTY-RESEARCHERS GEAR UP FOR EXTERNAL FUNDING THROUGH PROPOSAL WRITESHOP

Twenty-eight faculty-researchers of Cagayan State University Aparri Campus participated in the Proposal Writeshop and Packaging for External Funding today, September 2, 2026 at the Gatchalian Building Conference Hall, aimed at equipping them with the knowledge and skills to develop competitive proposals for external funding opportunities.

Organized by the Research, Development and Extension (RDE) Office, the one-day writeshop provided faculty-researchers with practical guidance on developing, writing, and packaging project proposals that meet the requirements and priorities of potential funding agencies.

In his Welcome Remarks, Dr. Policarpio L. Mabborang Jr., ASEAN ENGR., Campus Executive Officer, highlighted the importance of strengthening the research capabilities of faculty members and encouraging them to pursue opportunities beyond the university’s internal funding mechanisms, and emphasized that competitive research proposals should not only demonstrate academic excellence but also address pressing community and societal concerns, generate meaningful innovations, and create tangible impact.

Meanwhile, Prof. Florentina S. Dumlao, University Consultant, led the presentation on external funding opportunities from various agencies, including the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Department of Science and Technology (DOST), and other potential funding institutions, and underscored the importance of preparing proposals that are responsive to funding priorities and capable of demonstrating clear and measurable project outcomes.

The activity then proceeded to its core activity through the Proposal Writeshop Proper, where participants were guided by mentors composed of full-fledged professors assigned to their respective colleges.

The afternoon session continued the writeshop, giving faculty-researchers ample time to work on their respective proposals, receive technical guidance from their mentors, and refine their project concepts for potential submission to funding agencies.

Beyond enhancing proposal writing competencies, the activity seeks to encourage the participants to actively pursue external funding opportunities and translate their research and development ideas into viable projects that can generate meaningful contributions to the university and its partner communities.

The activity forms part of CSU Aparri’s continuing efforts to strengthen its research, development, and extension culture, build the capacity of its faculty-researchers, and expand opportunities for externally funded projects and institutional partnerships.

12 CRIMINOLOGY EXAMINEES EARN LICENSES; SURPASS NATIONAL PASSING RATE IN AUGUST 2026 LEC

Twelve criminology examinees earned their professional licenses after passing the August 2026 Licensure Examination for Criminologists, posting an impressive 70.59% overall passing rate and surpassing the 57.5 % national passing rate.

A total of 17 examinees from Cagayan State University Aparri Campus College of Criminal Justice Education took the licensure examination, with 12 successfully passing.

The results were highlighted by a 100 % passing rate among first-time takers, as all three examinees who took the examination for the first time successfully hurdled the test.

Meanwhile, 9 of the 14 repeaters passed the examination, recording a 64.29 % passing rate.

The strong performance reflects the examinees' perseverance, dedication, and commitment to achieving their goal of becoming licensed criminologists and underscores the collective efforts of the faculty members and academic support systems in preparing students for the professional demands of the criminology field.

The newly licensed criminologists were warmly congratulated for their achievement, with the institution recognizing their hard work, resilience, and determination in overcoming the challenges of the licensure examination.

With an overall passing rate of 70.59%—significantly higher than the 57.5% national passing rate, the August 2026 LEC results underscore the university’s commitment to delivering quality criminology education and producing competent, resilient, and future-ready professionals who are prepared to serve the community and uphold justice and public safety.

CSU APARRI MARKS FOURTH WEEK OF ASEAN CELEBRATION; SPOTLIGHTS FACULTY, PERSONNEL PERFORMANCES

Cagayan State University Aparri Campus continued its month-long ASEAN Celebration today, with vibrant cultural performances featuring the creativity and talents of students, faculty, and personnel during the fourth week of the festivities.

The performances were prepared and presented by the SARIGAWAN Performing Arts, the Campus Student Council, and select Faculty and Personnel, whose special participation added color and enthusiasm to the celebration.

Through music, dance, costumes, and theatrical presentations, the performers showcased the beauty of cultural diversity while emphasizing the shared values that connect the peoples of Southeast Asia.

The SARIGAWAN Performing Arts led the cultural presentations, demonstrating the students' creativity, discipline, and appreciation of both local and ASEAN cultures.

The Campus Student Council likewise contributed performances that encouraged student participation and strengthened camaraderie across the campus community.

Adding a special touch to the celebration, faculty members and personnel took the spotlight with their own cultural performances, demonstrating that the celebration of ASEAN is a shared experience that brings together every sector of the CSU Aparri community.

Their participation not only entertained the campus audience but also highlighted the enthusiasm and unity of the faculty and personnel, who joined students in celebrating the richness of ASEAN culture.

The fourth-week celebration provided the CSU Aparri community with an opportunity to appreciate cultural diversity while promoting the ideals of unity, cooperation, mutual respect, and regional solidarity, values at the heart of the ASEAN spirit.

ASEAN COMES ALIVE AT CSU APARRI AS CHM, CTE, CBEA TAKE THE STAGE

The spirit of ASEAN came alive at Cagayan State University Aparri Campus as the College of Hospitality Management (CHM), College of Teacher Education (CTE), and College of Business, Entrepreneurship and Accountancy (CBEA) took center stage today during the third-week celebration of ASEAN Month 2026.

The highlight of the week was a vibrant cultural presentation featuring select students from the three colleges who showcased their talents through captivating performances inspired by the rich traditions and cultural diversity of the ASEAN region.

Beyond entertainment, the activity provided students with a meaningful opportunity to deepen their understanding of different cultures while promoting respect, inclusivity, and cultural appreciation.

Adding significance to the celebration, Prof. Policarpio L. Mabborang Jr., DPA, ASEAN ENGR., Campus Executive Officer, delivered a message emphasizing the importance of cultural appreciation, regional unity, and global competence in preparing students to become responsible and engaged members of the ASEAN community.

The participation of CHM, CTE, and CBEA also highlighted the role of higher education in developing globally competent and culturally aware students who can engage meaningfully with people and communities beyond their own cultural backgrounds.
