CSU APARRI STRENGTHENS GLOBAL OUTLOOK AS ASEAN CELEBRATION 2026 OFFICIALLY OPENS
Cagayan State University Aparri Campus officially launched its ASEAN Celebration 2026 through a vibrant kick-off program today bringing together faculty members, personnel, and students in a meaningful observance of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and its ideals of regional cooperation, cultural appreciation, and global citizenship.
With the theme "Fostering Unity, Diversity, and Global Competence," the celebration highlighted the university's commitment to strengthening internationalization initiatives and cultivating a deeper understanding of the rich cultural heritage shared among ASEAN member states.
Dr. Policarpio L. Mabborang Jr., the Campus Executive Officer, delivered the opening message, emphasizing the importance of embracing cultural diversity, promoting international collaboration, and preparing students to become globally competitive professionals.
Meanwhile, a special message from the OIC-President Dr. Arthur G. Ibañez was delivered, reaffirming the institution's commitment to fostering academic excellence, cross-cultural engagement, and stronger partnerships within the ASEAN community.
One of the program's highlights was the Presentation of Mr. and Ms. ASEAN, where the different colleges together with the Faculty and Personnel groups represented ASEAN member countries through creative cultural attire and presentations.
In her closing remarks, Dr. Corazon T. Talamayan, Campus Director for Academic Affairs, encouraged everyone to continue embracing the values of unity, inclusivity, and international cooperation beyond the celebration.
As part of the month-long observance, the campus will continue the celebration through a series of short ASEAN-themed activities every Monday throughout August, which will be spearheaded by the different colleges .
The ASEAN Celebration forms part of the University's continuing efforts to promote internationalization by providing opportunities for students and employees to appreciate regional cultures, strengthen global perspectives, and develop competencies essential in an increasingly interconnected world.
