In her first week in office, Mayor Susan Evardone wasted no time in getting up to speed with the operations of the Local Government Unit of Arteche. Demonstrating decisive leadership and a proactive approach, Mayor Susan convened an Executive Briefing with all 20 local department heads and heads of partner national agencies.

The executive session served as a comprehensive orientation on the current programs, pressing challenges, and recommended strategies across key sectors—including social governance, economic development, peace and order, financial management, and local policy implementation.

Mayor Susan emphasized the importance of teamwork, innovation, and people-centered governance as she listened to each agency’s report and laid down her expectations in delivering better, faster, and more responsive services to every Artechehanon.

Public Consultation on Proposed Casidman Solar-Powered Irrigation System and Tangbo Diversion Dam Canal Improvement Held

Sept 12, 2024 – In a proactive effort to enhance the agricultural productivity and water management system, LGU Arteche through Office of the Municipal Agricultural Services Arteche in partnership with Dept of Agriculture spearheaded a public consultation on the Proposed Casidman Solar-Powered Irrigation System and the Canal Improvement of the Tangbo Diversion Dam.

Local residents, community leaders, farmers, and stakeholders from Brgy. Tangbo and Casidman officials and farming sectors meet to discuss these vital infrastructure projects.

The Casidman Solar-Powered Irrigation System is aimed at providing a sustainable, energy-efficient solution to the community's irrigation needs. By harnessing solar power, the system is expected to ensure continuous water supply for agricultural lands, especially during the dry season, without relying on traditional energy sources.

Meanwhile, the Tangbo Diversion Dam Canal project seeks to upgrade the current canal infrastructure to optimize water distribution across farmlands.

The consultation concluded with a commitment from local leaders to ensure transparency and community involvement throughout the implementation of both projects, which are expected to significantly contribute to the sustainable development of the agricultural sector in the area.
