𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐎 II 𝐂𝐔𝐋𝐓𝐈𝐕𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐍𝐄𝐗𝐓 𝐆𝐄𝐍𝐄𝐑𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍: 𝐊𝐂𝐀𝐒𝐓 𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐍𝐒 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐏𝐋𝐄𝐓𝐄 𝟑𝟎-𝐃𝐀𝐘 𝐀𝐆𝐑𝐈𝐂𝐔𝐋𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐀𝐋 𝐏𝐑𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐂𝐔𝐌

From the open fields to the livestock barns, the past 30 days have marked a transformative journey for seven dedicated students from the 𝗞𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲, 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 (𝗞𝗖𝗔𝗦𝗧). These aspiring professionals from the College of Agriculture consistently demonstrated that true expertise is grown through a combination of academic foundation and hands-on perseverance.

Throughout their intensive month-long immersion, the cohort excelled in several key areas:

a. Technical Precision: Applying advanced crop management and plant science theories to real-world soil.
b. Livestock Management: Gaining vital practical experience in the daily care and health monitoring of farm animals.
c. Community Extension: Participating in various On-site Agriculture Programs, Projects and Activities implementation, which provided a firsthand look at how essential agricultural services are delivered directly to the heart of the community.

This successful collaboration was made possible through the mentorship of the Local Government Unit of Asuncion led by 𝗠𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗮𝘆𝗼𝗿, 𝗛𝗼𝗻. 𝗔𝘁𝘁𝘆. 𝗥𝗼𝘀𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗼 𝗥. 𝗗𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗱𝗮𝘆 through the Municipal Agriculture Office (MAGRO) under the leadership of 𝗠𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗝𝗼𝗵𝗻 𝗙. 𝗣𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗼𝗻, 𝗥𝗔𝗴𝗿. His office provided the guidance and professional resources necessary to bridge the gap between the classroom and the field.

The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Asuncion, under the leadership of Mayor Atty. Rosario R. Dayaday, officially announces the successful conclusion of the 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵-𝗩𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲 𝗖𝗿𝗼𝗽 (𝗖𝗼𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘂𝘁) 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗻.

Held from February 16 to March 18, 2026, as part of the Amuma sa Mag-uuma Program, the initiative provided essential social protection services to the agricultural workforce across all 20 barangays. This mission was executed through the strategic coordination of the Municipal Agriculture Office, led by Municipal Agriculturist John F. Paparon, RAgr, in partnership with the Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation (PCIC).

This program marks a significant milestone in the LGU’s commitment to achieving 100% insurance coverage, ensuring the long-term resilience and security of Asuncion’s farmers and fisherfolk.

Starting on 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝟭𝟲 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, the Local Government Unit of Asuncion shall adopt a
𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗲, totaling 𝟰𝟬 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀 𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸, to comply with the mandate of the Civil Service Commission.

This measure aims to further mitigate the rising fuel costs by reducing one day of weekly expenses on electricity, fuel, security, and other utilities to optimize public resource use while ensuring uninterrupted delivery of government services, as stated in 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗺 𝗖𝗶𝗿𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗡𝗼. 𝟭𝟭𝟰, 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, issued by the Office of the President.

A total of 38 farmers from various barangays of the 𝗠𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝘀𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗗𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗼 𝗱𝗲𝗹 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗲 received 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗰𝗸𝘀 today from PCIC through its 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗫𝗜. The checks were distributed to farmers affected by various types of crop damages to help them recover and restart their livelihood.

The checks were handed over by the Regional Office 11 staff members. This activity was made possible through the initiative of our 𝗠𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗮𝘆𝗼𝗿 𝗔𝘁𝘁𝘆. 𝗥𝗼𝘀𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗼 𝗥. A milestone for our farmers in Asuncion, Davao del Norte!

Held on November 6, 2025, at Purok San Miguel, Brgy. Concepcion, the 𝗥𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝗹, 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗕𝘂𝗯𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗗𝗿𝘆𝗲𝗿, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗿 were officially turned over to the 𝗔𝘀𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗥𝗜 𝗙𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (𝗔𝗦𝗥𝗜𝗙𝗔) under the 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 𝗼𝗳 𝗥𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (𝗦𝗥𝗜) 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗥𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗡𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 (𝗥𝟭).

A total of 291 farmers from various barangays of 𝗠𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝘀𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗗𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗼 𝗱𝗲𝗹 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗲 received 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗰𝗸𝘀 on October 22, 2025 from PCIC through its 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗫𝗜. The checks were distributed to diverse kind of farmers affected by various type of damages.
