Nestled in the cool, misty mountains of Atok, Benguet, the Northern Blossom Flower Farm served as a vibrant stop for delegates of the Philippine Experience Program (PEP): during the 2nd day of their journey through the Cordilleras on Friday (Oct. 24). Surrounded by a sea of colorful blooms and breathtaking mountain views, delegates experienced firsthand the serenity that makes the flower farm one of the region’s most beloved destinations.

The visit highlighted Benguet’s vital efforts to preserve the region’s floral tourism and natural beauty. The delegation explored the farm, capturing Instagram-worthy shots amid its variety of blooms—such as cabbage roses, alstroemerias, hydrangeas, snapdragons, dusty miller, chamomile, and sunflowers—set against stunning mountain landscapes.

The tour also featured a hearty selection of Cordilleran delicacies that delegates delighted in, including lukto (a sweet-potato snack cooked with orange), chayote tempura, binubudan (fermented cassava), sinaig (three-day fermented rice), Barangay Naguey’s 3-in-1 diket (Atok’s local rice cake), and kaka-ew (steamed cassava in banana leaves).

The Office of Civil Defense (OCD) will conduct the “Know Your Ground: Essential Earthquake Preparedness Seminar” on October 29, 2025, to arm the people with the knowledge and skills needed to prepare for and stay safe during earthquakes. The activity stresses the importance of awareness, readiness, and action in saving lives when disasters strike.

The Flag Raising Ceremony held on October 20, 2025, highlighted the formal presentation of Mr. and Miss Atok 2025 before Municipal Officials, Senior Citizens Officer For A Day (SCOFAD), Municipal Employees, representatives from National Offices, and guests.

Representing the municipality are 𝗠𝗿. 𝗔𝘁𝗼𝗸, 𝗥𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗲 𝗟𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘄𝗮 𝗗𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗮𝘀, 𝗝𝗿., 21, from Allay, Pasdong—a third-year Hospitality Management student at the University of Baguio, and 𝗠𝗶𝘀𝘀 𝗔𝘁𝗼𝗸, 𝗭𝗮𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝗽𝗶𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗻 𝗔𝗹𝗰𝗶𝗱, 24, from Oyusan, Cattubo—a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Benguet State University in Hospitality Management, currently serving as an Environmental Fee Collector under the LGU of Atok.

Both candidates respectfully sought the support of the LGU and the community as they represent Atok in the ongoing Mr. and Miss Benguet/Adivay pageant.

The ceremony also featured the presentation, pinning of sashes, and oathtaking of 𝗦𝗖𝗢𝗙𝗔𝗗 officials, held under the theme “𝙀𝙢𝙗𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝘼𝙜𝙚: 𝙇𝙞𝙫𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙖 𝙇𝙞𝙛𝙚 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝘿𝙞𝙜𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙋𝙪𝙧𝙥𝙤𝙨𝙚.”

Atok, Benguet — On October 14, 2025, the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development – Cordillera Administrative Region (DHSUD-CAR) conducted a payout for families whose homes were totally or partially damaged during Typhoon Pepito in 2024. The distribution took place at the Office of the Municipal Social Welfare and Development (MSWD).

The Local Government Unit of Atok extended its heartfelt gratitude to DHSUD-CAR for their continued support in helping affected residents rebuild and recover. This assistance marks a significant step toward restoring safe and dignified shelter for the community.
