The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) has officially commenced the eLGU Admin Training and System Setup for LGU Atok, Benguet and LGU Sagada, Mountain Province, conducted simultaneously from May 4 to 7, 2026. The first day of the activity marks an important step toward strengthening digital governance and enhancing public service delivery in both municipalities.

In his welcome message, Municipal Mayor Hon. Franklin L. Smith of LGU Atok expressed the municipalityโ€™s strong willingness to adopt the eLGU system, recognizing its potential to improve efficiency, transparency, and accessibility of government services for their constituents.

MLGOO Euchols P. Manacnis also delivered a message of support, encouraging all participants to actively engage in the training and emphasizing the importance of collaboration among offices to ensure successful implementation.

Representing DICT, Regional Director Jimmicio S. Daoaten highlighted the significance of Republic Act No. 11032 or the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act, and Republic Act No. 12254 or the eGovernance Act. He emphasized that the adoption of systems like eLGU is crucial in streamlining processes, reducing bureaucratic delays, and strengthening digital governance, while reaffirming DICTโ€™s continued support to LGUs.

Also present during the opening program was Provincial Officer Engr. Alicia Piacos of Benguet, along with representatives from the Business Permits and Licensing Office (BPLO), Treasury, Municipal Civil Registrar (MCR), Municipal Planning and Development Office (MPDO), Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO), and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), all of whom actively participated in the activity.

As the training continues in the coming days, both LGUs are expected to undergo comprehensive discussions and hands-on sessions to ensure readiness for the full implementation of the eLGU system.
