DESTROY MOSQUITO BREEDING SITES TO PREVENT AND CONTROL DENGUE

Observance of the Dengue Awareness Month concluded in June. However, the fight for dengue virus prevention and control continues. Searching and destroying mosquito breeding sites is one of the most effective methods in eliminating mosquitos carrying dengue virus.

WEEK 31 DENGUE CASES UPDATE | A rise in dengue cases is observed in Morbidity Week 31/July 28-August 3, 2024. A total of 600 cases were recorded in the province of Benguet for the period compared to 230 in Morbidity Week 30/August 21-27, 2024. From January 1 to August 3, 2024, a total of 3,989 dengue cases were already monitored of which five (5) fatalities were recorded; two (2) in the municipality of La Trinidad, one (1) in Tublay, one (1) in Bokod, and one (1) in Tuba.

Data from the Provincial Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit shows that the municipality of La Trinidad has the highest cases with 1,009 followed by the municipality of Kabayan with 708. Kibungan has the least recorded cases with 45.
