Today, March 13, 2026, the official inauguration of our Hemodialysis Unit took place, marking the commencement of its services for dialysis patients in the municipality and surrounding communities, effective March 16, 2026. This significant project, brought to fruition under the leadership of Governor Melchor Diclas, is now complete and ready to commence operations.

Noland Sabling, Chief Social Insurance Officer of the Local Health Insurance Office-Benguet, voiced his support and extended congratulations, affirming PhilHealth's commitment to this endeavor. He also presented the unit's Certificate of Accreditation.

Mayor Franklin L. Smith expressed his profound gratitude, highlighting the substantial benefits this facility will provide to residents requiring ongoing dialysis treatment.

Dialysis patient Leo Cawaing shared his appreciation for Governor Diclas and the Provincial Government, noting that the new unit will alleviate the hardship of long-distance travel for treatment. He also conveyed his thanks to the hospital's medical and nursing staffs.

Dr. Joseph Giovanni C. Frias, Chief of Hospital I, delivered a warm welcome to all attendees during the inauguration. Additionally, Board Member Lady Charmaine S. Molintas-Likigan, Chairperson of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan Committee on Health, and Dr. Meliarazon F. Dulay, Provincial Health Officer II, shared messages of support. They underscored the inauguration as a pivotal milestone in enhancing healthcare services and offering dialysis patients a more accessible avenue for continued treatment.

Further support for this initiative was evident with the presence of Dr. Jocelyn Legaspi, PHO I; Dr. Dominga Nazir, MHO; Atok Councilors Marilou Alos-Zarate and Sammy Fianza; Councilor Vicente Kitongan of Buguias; Dr. Eden B. Dangwa, COH of Itogon District Hospital; and Nephrologists Dr. Nichole Domingo and Dr. Tuban, who will be serving at the unit, alongside members of the community.

We also extend our thanks to Fr. George Caslangan for officiating the blessing ceremony for both the Dialysis Unit and the recently renovated hospital laboratory.
