The Municipality of Baao is set to participate in the 2024 Census of Population and Community-Based Monitoring System (POPCEN-CBMS) nationwide synchronized rollout. This is pursuant to Republic Act No. 11315, otherwise known as the Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) Act approved on 17 April 2019, and the Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) signed on 20 May 2020, which mandates the establishment and institutionalization of CBMS in every local government unit.

The CBMS is an organized technology-based system of collecting, processing, and validating necessary disaggregated data, that serves as an economic and social tool towards the formulation and implementation of poverty alleviation and development programs responsive to the basic needs of each sector in the community.

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)- Camarines Sur, led by Mr. Raul P. Aspe Jr., Chief, Supervising Statistical Specialist - OIC, successfully turned over valuable CBMS data to the Local Government Unit of Baao! This data, gathered in 2022, will be instrumental in making informed decisions and promoting sustainable development in our community.

The ceremony, held at the Mayor's Office Conference Room on March 15, 2024, was a testament to collaboration between the PSA, LGU Baao and its constituents. The ceremony was attended by Hon. Mayor S. Besinio, Vice Mayor Gerry B. Bricenio's representative- Municipal Councilor, Hon. Benjamin B. Blanquera, MLGOO Ms. Anamarie R. Resontoc, MPDC B. Contreras, alongside various SB members and department heads. We were honored to have representatives from various government agencies, including: * Ms. Marita G. Hermoso, Project Evaluation Officer IV, PPDO Office - Camarines Sur, * Engr. Clint Vincent Gregorio, DICT R5 Representative and * Mr. Danilo V. Luceรฑa, Chief Statistical Specialist - RSSO V - Statistical Operations and Coordination Division. Attendees from PSA who also graced the event included Ms. Romella Fe R. Gasgas, Statistical Specialist II; Maria Rizaly A. Agustin,, Statistical Specialist II, and Mr. Jobert D. Ronabio, CBMS-Statistical Specialist II.

The CBMS data is a significant milestone for Baao. It will empower our leaders to effectively address community needs and build a brighter future for all.
