The productive session brought together the dedicated administrative frontliners from the 30 barangays of Baao to align on vital report compliance updates and strategic directives delivered directly by the Baao MLGOO, LGOO VI Ana Dominique B. Gapayao.

A proud highlight of the gathering was the awarding ceremony for the Mid-Year Exemplary Service Awards, honoring the consistent hard work and dedication of the barangays for the 1st and 2nd Quarters of 2026. The awards are as follows:

🌊 Operation L!STO Disaster Preparedness Manual for Tsunamis - A Guide for Local Chief Executives (Cities and Municipalities)

🌏 The Philippines is vulnerable to tsunamis triggered by high-magnitude earthquakes, particularly from the West Valley Fault and the Manila Trench.

Recognizing these risks, the Department of the Interior and Local Government – Local Government Academy (DILG-LGA), in partnership with DOST-PHIVOLCS, developed the Operation L!STO Disaster Preparedness Manual for Tsunamis to help LGUs strengthen their readiness and protect lives.

As part of the Operation L!STO program, this manual equips city and municipal local chief executives with practical guidance to prepare for, respond to, and recover from tsunami events using a whole-of-government and whole-of-society approach to disaster resilience.

Anchored on the mandates of Republic Act No. 7160 (Local Government Code of 1991) and Republic Act No. 10121 (Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Act of 2010), the manual emphasizes that while natural hazards cannot be prevented, disaster risks can be significantly reduced by minimizing exposure, reducing vulnerability, and taking early preparedness actions.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 | DILG Baao Joins SK Federation Special Session

Earlier today, July 10, 2026, LGOO VI Ana Dominique B. Gapayao of the DILG actively participated in the Sangguniang Kabataan Federation Special Session.

During the session, LGOO VI Gapayao discussed key points regarding the SK Turn Over, highlighting its importance in ensuring continuity, accountability, and effective leadership among the youth officials.

In addition, the DILG Baao Website was introduced, with emphasis on the Sangguniang Kabataan Corner, designed to serve as an accessible platform for updates, resources, and relevant information for SK officials and stakeholders.

DILG Baao continues to support and empower the youth while strengthening local governance through sustained collaboration and guidance.
