Tropical Cyclone: WARNING
ISSUED AT:5:00 PM, 24 December 2016
"NINA" INTENSIFIED FURTHER AS IT MAINTAINS ITS WEST NORTHWEST DIRECTION.
Estimated rainfall amount is from moderate to heavy within its 500 km diameter of the typhoon.
It is expected to make landfall over Catanduanes by Sunday (Dec. 25) afternoon or evening.
Location of eye/center: At 4:00 PM today, the eye of Typhoon "NINA" was located based on all available data including Guiuan doppler radar at 320 km Northeast of Borongan City, Eastern Samar (13.3 °N, 127.8 °E)
Strength: Maximum sustained winds of 175 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 215 kph
Forecast Movement: Forecast to move West Northwest at 15 kph
