The Coast Guard District Southeastern Mindanao (CGDSEM), through its seven (7) stations and substations, strengthened environmental protection initiative through a simultaneous coastal clean-up activity, collecting a total of 239 sacks of garbage from various coastal areas. The initiative highlighted the collective efforts of Coast Guard personnel and partner stakeholders in preserving cleaner shorelines and protecting the marine environment for future generations.

๐‹๐Ž๐Ž๐Š: In line with the 41st Pre-Anniversary Celebration of the Coast Guard District Southeastern Mindanao (CGDSEM) Coast Guard Station IGACOS conducted Simultaneous Mangrove Planting Activity at the shoreline of Raquel Beach Resort, Brgy. Catagman, Island Garden City of Samal (IGACOS).

The activity was conducted in collaboration with the Marine Environmental Protection Group Unit (MEPGRU)-IGACOS, Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary (PCGA) 802nd Squadron, City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO), Philippine Army, Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP-IGACOS), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP-IGACOS), the Barangay Officials of Brgy. Catagman, and the management of Raquel Beach Resort, demonstrating a strong commitment to environmental stewardship through collective action.

The mangrove planting initiative aims to reduce coastal pollution, strengthen shoreline protection against erosion, preserve marine biodiversity, and raise environmental awareness while encouraging greater community participation in safeguarding the countryโ€™s coastal resources.

This meaningful environmental activity reflects the Philippine Coast Guardโ€™s unwavering commitment to the ICARE (Intensified Community Assistance, Awareness, Response, and Engagement) Program, reinforcing partnerships with government agencies, stakeholders, and local communities in promoting sustainable environmental conservation.

๐ˆ๐ ๐๐‡๐Ž๐“๐Ž๐’: As part of the 41st Pre-Anniversary Activities of the Coast Guard District Southeastern Mindanao (CGDSEM), Coast Guard Station IGACOS successfully conducted a Simultaneous Coastal Clean-Up today at Raquel Beach Resort, Brgy. Catagman, Island Garden City of Samal (IGACOS).

Catagman, and the management of Raquel Beach Resort, demonstrating a unified commitment to protecting the marine environment and preserving the natural beauty of Samal Island.

Through the collective efforts of all participating agencies and volunteers, the activity accumulated a total of 19 sacks of assorted garbage, which were properly collected and disposed of, helping restore the cleanliness of the shoreline while reinforcing the importance of environmental conservation and responsible waste management.

This initiative reflects the Philippine Coast Guardโ€™s unwavering commitment to environmental stewardship under its ICARE (Intensified Community Assistance, Awareness, Response, and Engagement) Program, promoting community participation and environmental awareness while fostering stronger partnerships for a cleaner and more resilient coastline.

๐ˆ๐ ๐๐‡๐Ž๐“๐Ž๐’: In line with the Philippine Coast Guardโ€™s commitment to community service and nation-building, Coast Guard Station IGACOS (CGS IGACOS) provided assistance during the Feeding Program and Distribution of School Kits for Kindergarten Learners held today, 31 July 2026, at Luis P. Rodriguez Integrated School, Barangay Caliclic, Babak District, Island Garden City of Samal (IGACOS).

The outreach activity was made possible through the collaborative efforts of Coast Guard District Southeastern Mindanao D-7 (CGDSEM D-7), Civil Relations Groupโ€“Southeastern Mindanao (CRG-SEM), Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary (PCGA) 802nd Squadron, and the Rotary Club of Matina Davao, bringing together government and private sector and partners to promote the welfare and education of young learners.

The activity likewise supports the ICARE (Intensified Community Assistance, Awareness, Response, and Engagement) Program of the Philippine Coast Guard to strengthen government-community partnerships through responsive public service, inclusive development, and programs that promote the welfare of Filipino families and children.
