๐๐๐๐: In line with the 41st Pre-Anniversary Celebration of the Coast Guard District Southeastern Mindanao (CGDSEM) Coast Guard Station IGACOS conducted Simultaneous Mangrove Planting Activity at the shoreline of Raquel Beach Resort, Brgy. Catagman, Island Garden City of Samal (IGACOS).
The activity was conducted in collaboration with the Marine Environmental Protection Group Unit (MEPGRU)-IGACOS, Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary (PCGA) 802nd Squadron, City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO), Philippine Army, Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP-IGACOS), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP-IGACOS), the Barangay Officials of Brgy. Catagman, and the management of Raquel Beach Resort, demonstrating a strong commitment to environmental stewardship through collective action.
The mangrove planting initiative aims to reduce coastal pollution, strengthen shoreline protection against erosion, preserve marine biodiversity, and raise environmental awareness while encouraging greater community participation in safeguarding the countryโs coastal resources.
This meaningful environmental activity reflects the Philippine Coast Guardโs unwavering commitment to the ICARE (Intensified Community Assistance, Awareness, Response, and Engagement) Program, reinforcing partnerships with government agencies, stakeholders, and local communities in promoting sustainable environmental conservation.
