Residents, farmers, businesses, and local governments are encouraged to prepare for potentially drier conditions in the coming months

32ND DAY OF BELOW-NORMAL RAINFALL IN MINDANAO

Mindanao is now experiencing its 32nd consecutive day of below-normal rainfall, raising concerns over worsening dry conditions and potential impacts on water resources, agriculture, and daily life.

DROUGHT ALERT โ€” PREPARE FOR THE WORST-CASE SCENARIO

BARMM and the DAVAO REGION should prepare now for worsening drought conditions, particularly if below-normal rainfall continues into the coming months.

๐Ÿšจ KEY RISKS

๐Ÿ’ง Critical water shortages โ€” rivers, reservoirs and groundwater may decline
๐ŸŒพ Agricultural losses โ€” reduced irrigation and crop stress

๐Ÿ„ Livestock/water supply problems

โšก Hydropower impacts as river and reservoir levels fall

๐Ÿ”ฅ Higher wildfire/grassfire risk

๐Ÿ™๏ธ Possible water rationing in affected communities

This is the time to prepareโ€”not wait until water sources become critically depleted.

๐Ÿ“‰ Food and livelihood impacts if drought becomes prolonged.
