The Department of Education โ€“ Division of Island Garden City of Samal successfully conducted the 2026 Brigada Eskwela Division Kick-Off Program at Magamomo Elementary School, anchored on the theme:

โ€œ๐๐š๐ฒ๐š๐ง๐ข๐ก๐š๐ง ๐ฌ๐š ๐๐š๐š๐ซ๐š๐ฅ๐š๐ง: ๐๐š๐ ๐ค๐š๐ค๐š๐ข๐ฌ๐š ๐ฉ๐š๐ซ๐š ๐ฌ๐š ๐Š๐š๐š๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐š๐ง ๐š๐ญ ๐Š๐š๐š๐ฅ๐š๐ฆ๐š๐ง.โ€

The activity was led by SDS Emma A. Camporedondo, together with ASDS Gay P. Taguiran, and was graced by the presence of local government officials, partners, stakeholders, and members of the community.

The program not only emphasized the spirit of bayanihan through collaboration and volunteerism, but also highlighted the importance of Brigada Pagbasa, reinforcing the shared commitment of stakeholders in promoting literacy and improving learnersโ€™ reading proficiency.

Through strengthened partnerships and collective efforts, the initiative paves the way for a safe, inclusive, and learner-friendly environment, ensuring that every child is equipped with both knowledge and essential reading skills for the upcoming school year.

Teachers, campus journalists, and literary enthusiasts from across the Island Garden City of Samal gathered on May 30, 2026, at the SP Session Hall, City Hall, for the Community Outreach Program spearheaded by the Davao Writers Guild in collaboration with DepEd IGACOS language teachers.

The activity served as a platform for educators and students to deepen their appreciation of literature, creative writing, and contemporary literary practices through a series of insightful talks and discussions led by accomplished Mindanawon writers. Participants were given the opportunity to engage with the literary experts, exchange ideas, and explore practical approaches to teaching and promoting literature in the classroom and beyond.

The outreach program reflects the shared commitment of the Davao Writers Guild and the local education sector to nurture a vibrant literary culture, inspire emerging writers, and strengthen the role of literature in shaping creative and critical minds within the island.
