In August 2001, through Republic Act 9151, the National Apiculture Research Training and Development Institute (NARTDI) based at the Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DMMMSU), was created to lead the beekeeping industry in the Philippines. MISSION
Promote research, and engage in extension and training activities. GOAL
Pursue and sustain the institutionalization and integration of apicu

lture in agro-ecosystems for national development. Develop and package apiculture technologies.
2. Educate farmers and other stakeholders through effective extension approaches and strategies.
3. Develop and promote quality honeybee products and by-products.
4. Sustain the efficiency and effectiveness of apiculture programs, projects, and activities.
5. Develop and implement policies, standards and procedures to promote the apiculture industry.

The National Apiculture Research, Training and Development Institute (NARTDI) invites aspiring and practicing beekeepers nationwide to participate in its online beekeeping training courses this July 2026.

The training program is designed to provide participants with practical knowledge and technical guidance on honey bee management, pest and disease control, and sustainable beekeeping practices. Sessions will be facilitated by NARTDI experts through an online learning platform.

Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University-National Apiculture Research, Training and Development Institute (DMMMSU-NARTDI) provided technical expertise on cashew-based product processing during a skills training organized by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Pangasinan for members of the Jungle Farmers Multipurpose Cooperative in Laoag, Aguilar, Pangasinan on June 18, 2026.

DTI Pangasinan conducted the training through the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program to help agrarian reform beneficiaries and cooperative members process cashew fruit into value-added products, particularly cashew wine and cashew vinegar.

Mr. Arvin C. Tuyan, Division Chief for Extension and Development of NARTDI, served as resource speaker and demonstrated the production of cashew wine and cashew vinegar. He discussed raw material preparation, fermentation, food safety and sanitation, packaging, and product development.
